in the church and so continued, until
his pilgrimage on earth ended. He
was a consistent Christian. The sym

though retired to some degree he was
ready and willing to embrace anv
movement for the benefit and welfare
of those he lived among. Being a
man of strict integrity and a high
sense of honor his wise counsels
were sought and felt on many occa¬
sions and the respect of the people
where he so long resided, shows in
what great esteem he was held by his
friend* and neighbor*. Mi* home life
was pure and christan like, over his
cherished companion is flung the
crape of bereavement. Six children

There has broken upon them the sense
