THE COLlMBrS SOUTHERA’ R. R.
Work Being Energetically Pushed
This Important Elne.
Columbus has cause to
late herself this monring, for
has reached us that atl the convicts
lately at work on the Buena Vista
railroad have been and are being
transferred to the Southern. This
means a bigger town, and it is cheer
ful to know that we have one institu¬
tion that is fully preparing for such
an event. The Empire Stable has
to-day the best equipped and most
perfectly arranged livery, sale and
feed stables in the South. If you
want a fine horse, or a Texas pony,
a mule or a team of Kentucky high
steppers call on the Empire. No
city south of Baltimore has more ele¬
gant and luxurious vehicles than Co
lnmbus. It was the Empire stables
that introduced this way of having
the best of everything. Beginning
this week and continuing through the
season these stables will receive reg¬
ular shipments of Kentucky mules
and Texas horses. You should call
on this firm if you wish ot save mon¬
ey. With plenty of lailroads, more
new banks, more jobbing houses and
more people Columbus is just “hum¬
ping herself.”—Columbus, Enquirer
Sun.
WONDERFUL RESULT.
Knoxville, July 2 , 1888 .
The Swift Specific Co., Atlanta, Ga.:
Gentlemen. — I have a
now seven years of age, showed
severe case of scrofula on the side
her neck, the usual swelling and
bumps appeared, and with a view
curing her, we began using S. S. S.
The result was wonderful, and I and
my wife now stand ready to indorse
the great curative powers of your
medicine.

Physician’s treatment did not seem
to avail, and finally I decided to give
your S. S. S. a trial. Before the first
boitle gave out I noticed the im
provernent. The boiles anu caibun
cles disappeared, and with the six
bottles I quit, I was then perfectly
well, and ever since tha,t time my
blood has given every evidence of
peifeet purity. I attribute my corn
plete cure to the meaicir.e alone.
