Persons advanced in years feel younger and
stronger, as well as freer from the infirmities
of age, by taking Dr. J. H. McLean’s Sarsapa¬

We were struck with the ‘ruth and
force of an illustration used in his ser¬
mon by Rev. J. D. Anthony. He
said if he could put one hand on the
. orth pole, and the other on the
south pole, and put the world into a
human htart, it could not satisfy
its cravings. Only God can fill it,
and a ppease its longings.

Happily mated.
Thursday morning at the residence
of Dr. F. Barnes, the father of the
bride, Col. John F. DeLacy, of East¬
man, and Miss Ella Barnes were uni¬
ted in marriage. Rev. VV. A. Farley
performed the ceremony in a very
impressive manner in the presence of
afew friends of the contracting parties.
The groom is a prominent lawyer
of Eastman, a member of the legisla¬
ture from Dodge county, and is a
gentleman of superior intelligence and
culture. Polished and aspiring the
future holds for him possibilities of
advancement still to higher positions
of trust and usefulness.
The bride is an intelligent, amiable
and accomplished lady, who has just
graduated with honors in the art de¬
partment at Wesleyan Female col¬
lege. She is much loved in this com¬
munity, and her many friends wish
he a happy life with the man of
her choice.
The happy couple left on the Co

groom at Eastman, where they will
remain until the legislatuie meets
nextweek when they will occupy apart
ments at the Kimble’ Atlanta.

spiritual feast to many of our citizens

More About t*ie Address.
In his address at the College last
week, Rev. R. H. Harris defined ert
ucation as the leading forth of the
mind, being trained how to think “It
is a mistake, he said” that knowledge
is power, but the ability to use that
knowedge is power.The mere acquisi¬
tion book lore is not trai ing. It is like
a man with a chest full of tools, but
has not the ability to use them. It is
our duty to supply our chest with
tools, but we should learn to use them.
Children shouiu be trained so when
t hey become men and women they
will be independent thinkers. “The
spea ker referred to the college as a
fine property, worth $10,000. “Do
you suppose, said he” that a man with
that much property mvidually would
let it go to ruin. Purely from a bus¬
iness stand point it is important of
you to come together and build it up
Take all that will come from the state
but don’t wait for it. He urged the
ladies to use their influence to keen
up the institution assuring them tho
they could contiol it as they could
everything el se, and the men wouM
follow. While there were some flights
of oratory, the address was eminentiv
practical, and we believe accomplish¬
ed the purpose intended, gaining
some en thusiastic supporters tor the
college.
