Mr. and Mrs. A F Wright enter¬
tained their young friends at
their home a few miles north of
town last Thursday evening. By
o’clock quite a crowd had gath
ered in the spacious parlor and
young folks on pleasure bent
went at it with a vim. The fun
was kept up until a late hour.
The entertainment was voted by
all to have been, quite a success.

We learn tnat Mr. George Bla¬
lock, of Gulioden had the mis
fortune to have about $1.500stolon
from him a few nigh’s ago. Mr.
Blalock’s safe being out of repair
he carried the money to his room
at the hotel and locked it in his
trunk, and while at supper the
thjef picked the lock and made
Ins escape. If the thief or thieves
are caught they will no doubl re¬
ceive the full penalty of the. law.
