THE GEORGIA POST 3
What happened
in Jesus’ tomb?
Jesus was buried in a new
garden tomb. It was owned by
Joseph of Arimathea, a mem
ber of die Jewish ruling body
daybreak. Suddenly, a powerful
burst of light shown down from
heaven and illuminated the entire
sepulcher. This was accom-
(Sanhedrin) and a secret follower panied by the rumbling of an
of Jesus. Hewn from rock, this earthquake. The deceased Savior
tomb was prepared possibly began to stir and move,
for Arimathea’s own burial. Having a transcenden-
Poorer people were rele
gated to a less expensive
interment.
For six hours, Jesus
hung on the cross. He
was nailed to the cross
on Friday at 9 A.M. He
expired at 3 P.M. and
was taken down by the
Roman soldiers. Since
Jewish law prohibited dead
bodies from remaining
on the cross during the Sabbath
(Saturday), Joseph of Arimathea
went to the Roman Governor,
tal body, He passed
through the walls of the
sepulcher. Almost si
multaneously, a mighty
angel came down from
heaven, rolled the stone
away, and sat upon it.
The Roman guards

gravely frightened and
rushed back to the city
to tell their superiors
and the Jewish leaders what had
transpired.

Pontius Pilate, to ask for the body of what occurred is the sacred
of Jesus. Pilate granted Joseph’s
request, but not until his Roman
soldiers confirmed Jesus’ death.
As the sun began to set with
darkness spreading across the
land, Joseph hurriedly wrapped
Jesus’ body in a burial cloth
and laid His corpse inside the
tomb. The Jewish day started
at nightfall and continued until
the following day at sunset. So,
the burial was hastily completed.
“Shroud of Turin.” It purportedly
reflects the image of the cruci
fied Christ. The Savior’s facial
image was allegedly etched into
the burial cloth by a supernat
ural burst of radiation. When
the women arrived to complete
preparation of Jesus’ body, they
saw an angel inside the tomb.
On that first Easter morning,
the angel proclaimed, “He is not
here, He is risen!” The scripture
Joseph had a heavy circular stone reports that Jesus made 10 resur-
moved in front of the tomb’s
entrance, closing it from thieves
and curiosity seekers.
The lifeless, cadaverous body
of Jesus lay inside the darkened
tomb throughout the remainder
of Friday night and all day Sat
urday, the Jewish Sabbath. Only
darkness and stillness prevailed.
However, something strange and
rection appearances over a period
of 40 days and was seen by 500
people on one occasion. The pro
logue to Acts reports that “Jesus
was seen alive after His suffering
by many infallible truths.” Jesus
lives today to make intercession
for you and for me. We will never
have to struggle alone!

The crucible of racism
On June to, 2020, the U.S.
House of Representatives
launched forth efforts to
fix the intolerable ordeal
of racism. Since they have
exhausted billions of dollars
(and immeasurable hours),
on every investigation from
“Jonesville to Donald
Duck”—(and all quackers in
between), I wondered how
long it would be before they
invaded my corner—and
dealt with the basic tenets
of humanity. (After all—
they are in charge of fixing
the world????) What they
are now
attempt
ing, is an
overhaul
of human
ity’s moral
frame of
reference.
And what
they are set
on doing, is to rehabilitate
man’s civility. Amazingly,
only a few will recognize that
the nature of the beast, is
headlines for our moment.
A real comical twist, since
millions of pastors, church
es, priests, and prelates
have been at the task since
the days of Noah—and
have barely scratched
the surface. I feel it is
somewhat fair (and ap
ropos) to acquaint you
with mileposts from
which I communicate.
I’ve now been around
over nine decades.
Having spent thirty
years of regimented
service, sixty years in
Ministry; decades in
Crisis work, Journal
istic endeavors—scores of
schools and instructional
periods—pa-

think that
somewhere
in the course, I might have
gained a particle of insight.
I readily confess, with all
“nine points of gumption”,
I have yet to smooth out
the wrinkles of underlings!
In fact, my largest problem
remains “self’! In spite of
all my points of progress
(sic)—the world, along with
inhabitants—is still
in shambles. Very
recent episodes have
clearly proved that
humanity is precise
ly what the Script
declares—A MESS!
(Romans 3:10).
One observa
tion I have made
(which is not a cure
all), is that while
men (and women)
have gained great status—
for whatever reasons, they
remain incapable of witness
ing most statements (written
and oral)—as containing
substantial error. Give it
some thought! While prej
udice and racism is clearly
present, much of what has
been proclaimed has been
exaggerated, twisted, slant
ed, or misunderstood. That
incivility has invaded the
halls of Leadership cannot
be debated. Negotiations
and disagreements, have di
gressed into hatred, temper
tantrums, vile contempt,
yelling, shouting, cursing-
—and even bouts of bodily
harm.
Those who have been
elevated to leadership, have
succumbed to levels of ani
malistic behavior. And now,
they are espousing solutions
for grim antics. Each of you
have witnessed the same on
National Media. Can such
personalities render meth
ods of realistic behavior?
You make the call!
A glimpse of history will
shed light! For thousands
of years, humanity has
surrendered their attitudes
and actions to that of open
hostility. Wars, skirmish,
mayhem, wholesale crime-
-murder, slaughter—all fill
the daily news. Our own
Civil War—perhaps the most
ruthless encounter —ever-
-spells out the diabolical
and individual moral deficit.
Even the church is found
guilty of extreme vice. With
out a spiritual “REFIT”—we
are a hopeless disaster! And
Congressional action will not
render adequate solutions.
