says. “We discussed various
ideas at length and several
months ago thought we had
a plan that would work. But

hold the meeting, while at the
same time adhering to our
bylaws and keeping the board
election timeline intact.”
The drive-thru meeting
will be held from 9-10 a.m.

Crawford behind on census responses
Census takers began interviewing non-responding house
holds in person. Due to COVTD-19 the deadline to respond was
extended to September 30.
Crawford County’s response rate is at 51.4% which is lower
than Georgia (58.9%) and the national rate (62%).
The county could lose thousands of dollars in federal funding
if people don’t respond to the 2020 census. Monies are used for
critical services such as housing, transportation, health care,
education and emergency response. Census statistics determine
how many seats each state may gain or lose in the U. S. House
of Representatives and how legislative district are drawn.
