We shall then ex pose to sale in Macon,to the highest bid der, in oonfoi roily with a late act of the General Assembly : All the town lots not heretofore dispos ed of j being upwards of in number; on the western side of the liver; among them are twelve adjoining the river, and a few other choice lots for busine-s. The residue are in more re tired situations, and generally afford good building sites in a pleasant and growing part of the town. Forty two gardening lots of 10 and 20 acre* each ; laid out from one to one and a half miles distant from the town in two ranges around the Western Common. Also, twenty eight lots on the Eastern -fide ; that is to say, four of twenty, eight of ten acres, and sixteen of one acre each. These la-t include the place sometim’ known as Newtown ; and will be sold, subject to certain leae a from the United States, to expite next January. The retddue of the lands in the two reserves, are laid out iri tracts of 100 acres, ad fractional parts of such tracts. Os these the uplands wi l be next -tier ed; the lowest .number- fi *t; beginning wiihthose on the western side. On V\ edoesday the 22d of October nxt, at 11 o’clock. A. M. will be offered at the place of the other sales, the Bridge at Macon, together with one acre of land on th east ern mde of the Ocmulgee river, as one o the butmt nU ; aid ‘he privilege of using os much ol Fifth or Budge sheet on the western bank ns may be necessary for the other hutment of the Bridge. Ou Thursday th*- 23d of October, we shall proceed to sell the Swamp & Bottom lands within the Reserves, those on the weatern *ide first: and continue from day to day until completed. The partiiular numbers that will b sold on each day cannot be specified; but it is intended to put op the several kinds and descriptions in the order here men tioned. The Reserve* are generally well wa tered, and contain several good miil seats The area of the whole cannot be exartly known untd the platting is enm pluted; but twenty-one thousand acres is the estimated quantity (Oniamed in both Reserves and the adjoining fractions, exdu-ive of the town surveys. Perhaps no body of land of the same extent can be found, that embraces a greater variety in its surface, sod and timber. Situated just in that region where the pine of the lower country changes to the oak and hickory of the upper; it includes both iv'se grow hs and soils in most of their I varieties; in some portions entire, in oth ers interspersed oi blended. Tracts of very hilly land, or that which is quite lev el, or gently undulating, may be had of I almost every quality; either of oak and hi kory. or pine, nr river lands; and sev eral of th< se kind- occasionally united in tracts of lt'O acres, and fractions of va rious sizes, adapted to most of the pur poses for which land is wanted. From the pressure of the times, and more especially from the quantity of land and town lots that have been lately in the market, these must unavoidably sell low. And, lying at the head of naviga tion, immediately aroiod the third town of the state in population and trade, there is every reasons ble prospect of their soon rising in value. Purchasers have now an opportonitv, and apparently the last that will soon of fer, of obtaining on cheap anc very indul gent terms of payment, choice situation 3 fur residence, lor trade or foi ta.uiiug.
