MACON SALES OF THE RSERVE LANDS , THE TOWN LOTS AND THE Bu i Ti r Jot JL mJ vur Ij o WILL commence on Wednesday the first day of next October, and will continue fmm day to day with the exception of ihe first Monday and Tues day of that month. We shall then ex pose to sale in Macon,to the highest bid tier, in conformity with a late act of the General Assembly : All the town lots not heretofore dispos ed of ; being upwaids of in number; on the western side of the rivet ; among them are twelve adjoining the river, and a fe*v other choice lot* f i husiue ?. The residue are in more re tired situations, and generally afford good building sites in a pleasant and growing part of the town. Forty two gardening lots of 10 and 20 acre? each ; laid cut ftorn one to one and a half utiles distant from the town in two ranges around the Western Common* Also, twenty eight lots on the Eastern tide ; that is to say, four of twenty, eight of ten acres, and sixteen of one acre each. These last include the place sometimes known a? Newtown ; and will be sold, subject to leases from the United Mates, to e.xpiie n* xt January. The residue of the lands in the two reserves, are laid out in tracts of 100 acres, arid fractional parts of such tracts. Os these the tplands will be next ‘tier ed; the lowest ,number’ first; beginning withthose on tke western side. On Wednesday the 22d of October next, a* 11 o’clo- k, A. M. will be ottered at the place of the other sales, the Bridge at Macon, together with one acre of land on the east ern side of the Ocmulgee l iver, as one ot the hutments ; and the privilege of using os much ot Fifth or Bridge street on the western bank as may be necessary for the other hutment of the Bridge. On Thursday the 23d ol October, we Uiall proceed to sell the Swamp & Bottom lands within the Reserves, those on th* western side first; and continue from day t day until completed. The particular numbers that will h sold on eai h day cannot be specified; bu it is intended to put op the several kim* and descriptions in the order here men tioned. 1 In Reserves are generally well wa tend, and contain several good mill seats. Ihe area of he whole cannot tie exa< tly kno” n until the platting is rum pß ted; Rut twenty one thousand acres n the estimated ipi ntity contained ii both Reserves and the adjoining fractions, exclude “f the town su<veys. Perhaps no body of land of the same extent can be found, that t mlnaies a greater variety in its surface, sod and timber. Situated just in thl ”tu i® ttic jliuc ut lllC lower country changes to the oak and hi* kory of the upper; it includes both hese grow'hs and soils in most of their varieties; in some portions entire, in oth ers interspersed or blended Tracts of very hilly land, or that which is quite lev el, or gently undulating, may bo had of almost every quality; either of oak and hi< kory. or pine, or river lands; and sev eral of th se kind? occasionally united in tracts of 100 acres, and fractions of va rious sizes, adapted to most of the pur poses for which land is wanted. From the pressure of the times, and mo o especially firm the quantity of land and r t< wn lots that have been lately in the market, these must unavoidably sel low. And. lying at the head of navigal i tion, immediately around the third town, of the state in population and trade, there j is every reasonable prospect of their soon rising in value. Purchasers have now an opportunity, and apparently the last that will soon of fer, of obtaining on cheap and very indul gent terms of payment, choice situations for residence, for trade or f>” farming. TERMS OF SALE. Perch sei sos lands arid lots are to pay the Commissioners on the day of the pu'chat-e, one fifth part of the purchase money in cash or current bills of char tered B .nks of this State, and the residue in four equal annual instalments.— No se cuirty will be required. The bridge wll be sold on the same terms* except that the purchaser will be r quired to give bond with two or more | approved sureties for the payment of the four sub- quent annual instalments. \V N HARMON, ) C.
