Mr. R. A. Wilson brought to
town a nice ripe melon Monday, the
first of tiie season. It was placed
on ice and allowed to get good and
cold, then a few friends joined Mr.
Wilson in disposing of it in a man
ner delightful to all concerned
Mr. Wilson lias several acres in
melons, of the best varieties, from
which he will' begin to make ship
ments in about two weeks.
Children's Day at Christian Church.
Last Sunday was “Children’s
Day" at the Christian church. The
exercises were - held at night by the

very interesting. Rev. R. E. With
ers, the pastor, made a short ad
ress to the children, in which he
explained the object of “Children’s
Day.” The entire service oe< a pied
