A Fine Opening for the Abbeville
Notmal College and Business
I Institute—Expressions
from our Citizens.
The college opened up hist Tues
day with 200 students. There are
'■ in attendance, pupils from ten
counties in Georgia and front six
counties in Florida. Xeiv life has
been infused into the town and every
branch of business is doing better.
Below are some expressions from
the people:
J 0 Whitted:—“Abbeville has taken
on new life. 1 could tell it so soon
as 1 struck the town. I am coming
back here to live.”
Z W Lasseter:—“I think the col
lege is the biggest thing that ever
struck Abbeville and everybody
should pull together for its upbuild
ing. ”
II F Land;—-“Abbeville is des
tined to become the educational
centre of South Georgia. Every
thing else sinks into insignificance in
comparrison to the college."
J B Alison walked up to the build
ing committee and said:—“The
school makes me feed good. Here's
$10.00 use it in new seats."
AG Carithers:—“The outlook is
good—tlie town brighter.”
A F Churchwell:—“The town is
putting on new life. "
Ed Anderson:—“It looks like Abbe
ville and the college are on a boom.
J noticed the two empty houses ad
joining mine are now occupied.”
Pole Thigpen:—“I feel like 1 am
in a new town since the college
opened."
Lee Pittman:—“I think the col
lege is worth a dozen court houses."
Boy McCartney:—“If everybody
moves to Abbeville I have beard
talking about doing so, there will
not be houses enough to hold half of
them."
Charley Donaldson:—“I have
seen more new faces in Abbeville
thi' past week than 1 eve.i saw here
before. The school is the life of
Abbeville."
Dr. Maynard:—“The school is a
grand success and Abbeville will be
a grand success with the hearty co
operation of everybody. "
L 1* Wimberly:—“The town is
new again and oil the move."
Charley Bailey:—“I think the
school means more to the town than
anything and the people should put
their shoulders to the wheel now.”

churches are first. We now have
the best of both. Abbeville will
now move.”
J II Little:—“I run a dray and
haul for everybody and I never saw
things liven lip so much."
L Story:—“My business is pick
ing up. The school is helping the
town."
W A Cherry:—“Business is pick
ing up wonderfully. The school
can t be beat. ”

hopes for the school all the time,
but it surpasses my expectations.”
W II Wilkinson:—“I’m not wor

tickles mo all over. "
R A Wilson:—“We have nothing
that cost the same money that's
worth half so much."
Paul Hair:—“It looks like spring
of the year since sciiool started,”
AJ Bowen:—“'The prospects are
brighter for Abbeville than it ever
was before.”
Rev. M L Lawson:—- I have just
returned from Unadilla, and our
school is the talk from here there."
First, last and always, the school.
How To Look Good
Good looks are really more than
skin deep, depending entirely on a
healthy condition of all the vital
organs. If the liver be inactive
you have a bilious look; If your
stomach be disordered you have a j
dyspeptic look; if your kidneys lie
affected you have a pinched look.
Secure good health and you will
surely have good looks. “Electric
Bitters” is a good alterative and ;
tonic. Acts directly on the stomach I
liver and kidneys. Purifies the
blood, cures pimples, blotches and
tioils, and gives a good complexion.
Every bottle guaranteed. Sold at
