council of Abbeville, ami why is it
that oflicials and citizens arc unable

town affairs for more than two years

Abbeville.
After au absebefe of two years Dr.
and Mrs. G II Macon have decided
to return to their old home, where
“the lamp has been waiting in the
window” ever since they went away.
The Doctor lias accepted a posi
tion with the Central Drug Co.,
where he can befound quite “at
home” to all his old friends and cus
tomers.
Mrs. Macon is closing out her
millinery business in Ocilla anil will
soon arrive here and will open up a
millinery store at the same old stand
near Globe Hotel.
The return of this estimable
couple to their old homeris hailed
with much pleasure by their many
friends here.
The Doctor, aside from being a
skilled pharmacist, is an all round,
useful Christian gentleman and will
be a p 0 tont factor in the affairs of
the city.
Mrs. Macon is a lady of high cul
ture and is a beautiful Christian
character aud will be useful in church
aud social circles.
In behalf of the town Tiik Chron
icle will again say to them, welcome,
thrice welcome.
Dr. John D Van Allen, of East
man, visited Abbbeville last week,
attracted by the charms of one of
Abbeville’s loveliest young ladies.
