unusually well written and delivered.
The Literature class is the largest
in our history, numbering sixty
members. All our classes are
and enthusiastic.
Students entered from seven dif

More are expected next week. Let
us all pull together, citizens, stu

any person who might be induced to
attend school please send name and
address to the principal.
Several of our students have been
receiving letters from the principal
of another school, trying to influence
them to leave here. All his efforts
have been in vain. The students of
the G. N. C. & B. 1. having liad
substantial mental fare have no de
sire to take a course or mental swill.
Several new volumes have just
been added to the library. It npw
contains more than two thousand
five hundred volumes.
Let us all turn out next Monday
and do our part toward putting the
campus in order. While on the
ground the faculty invite you to pass
through the buildings and see how
much better our equipment is than
at this time last year.

The Artesian Well.
There is lots of complaint because
the pump at the artesian well is run
periodically and not regularly. Ar^
tesian water has become a necessity
with many people and the irregu
larity of the supply of water from
this source proves very annoying.
It strikes 11 s that it would be eco
nomical to put in some new ma

An Up-to-Date Farmer.
The Chronicle received a pleasant
call a few days ago from Mr. Henry

success of his farm and stock laising.
He lias a splendid plantation and his
fields are well tended with improved
agricultural machinery. He made
an important acquisition to his farm
