Mr. W T Walton has accepted a
position as engineer of a boat at
Brunswick and left last Saturday
for that place. His family will re
main here.

Superior Court.
Among the most important cases
disposed of at the present term of
court were those of the State vs Z
W Lasscter, A J Harp and C S Ford
charged with violating the primary
election laws. The Statu was repre
sented by Solicitor-General J F De
Lacey and Mr 1) B Nicholson, and
Judge Hal Lawson was attorney for
the defedants. Judge Lawson filed
a demurer to the iiulieiuient which
was sustained and the cases
were dismissed. These are the gen
tlemen who were given so much no
toriety last year by being charged
with stuffing the ballot box at the
primary election.
Several long, tedious but impor
tant land cases were tried last week
and a number of eases have been
stricken from the docket this week.
In nearly every case that has gone to
a jury a verdict was returned for the
plaintiff.
When court convened lest week it
was stated that the people were op
posed to a two weeks term, but on
Saturday when Judge Roberts offer
ed to excuse any of the jurors who
desired to be excused from iurv dm-,
ty the second week only three of the
twenty four requested to be relieved
The Grand Jury is composed of
some the best men in Wilcox every
section of the county being repre
