day morning at 9:30 o’clock at the

performing the ceremony. The young
couple have numerous friends in the

marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Herndon have
gone to Jacksonville, Fla., to make
their future home.

The meeting was presided over by

The historic committee reported that
the history of Crisp county, which has
been compiled by the chapter, has
been published and may now be had

of Southern History, was interesting
and instructive.
Upon the arrivel of the guests punch
was served by Mrs. Arthur Mize and

Ed Markert presided in the absence
of the president. After a short busi
ness meeting the following musical

D. M. Clark. There were about twelve
couples who enjoyed the dance.

MISS KATE WELDON AND
MR. F. G. GOODING WED.
Albany, Ga., April 18.—The wedding
of Miss Kate Weldon, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Samuel Weldon, of this city,
and F. G. Gooding, of Americus, was
solemnized last night at 5 o’clock at
the Albany P’resbyterian church, Rev.
E. M. Craig, pastor of the Prcsbyterian
church of Prattville, Ala., officiating.
The ceremony was performed in
the presence of the families of thy
contracting parties and a few inti
mate friends, and was marked by its
quiet and pleasing simpiicity.
As Miss Kate Weldon, Mrs. Good
ing has been one of Albany's most
‘admired young women, possessing
numerous accomplishments. She i
a reader of exceptional ability. Her
pleasing personality and lovable dis
position have endeared her to scores
of friends.
Mr. Frank Gooding resided until re
cently in Cordele and has many fricnds
here who wish him and his bride a
happy married life.
