were paid. 'The reports also showed
{that all except 19 connties in the state
gwe re organized, 12 had reached the

| which was estimated at between 1,500

WAYCROSS TO HAVE
GAS AND COKE COMPANY
} Atlanta, June 16.—'lne siate rail
road commission has authorized the
capitalization of the Consumers’ Gas
and Coke company, of Waycross, Ga.
The company is to be capitalized at
550000 in stock and $llO,OOO in bonds,
the maoney to be used for the purpose
of building a plant, installing a dis
tributing system and for similar pur
' neses {1 connection with supplying
the city of Waycross with gas. It

Savannah, June 20.-—An unidentified
negro was shot and instantly killed in
Gwinnett court just of West Boundary
street late last night by Call Officer
F. C. Taylor after a long chase at thi
clgse of which, just beiore he wasg
shot, the negro slasied at the officer
withe a large Knife at close guarters,

The officer had cvertaken the man
as ho was climmbing a fence giving en
