DON'T LEAVE MUSTARD POT .
‘ ON TABLE IN GERMANY NOW
~ Berlin, Oct. 27.—A scarcity of mus
tard is the newest thing in the provis
ions line. Germany normally imports
the bulk of its mustard from Russia,
Holland, Italy and lately from Ru
mania. All supplies on hand have
been ex-propriated, and resturant
keepers have now begun to serve the
condiment to guests only when re
quested and then in limited quamities.l
instead of leaving the mustard-pot onl
the table, as in former times.

jMUCH BUSINESS IN
: SOUTHEASTERN TERRITORY
% Columbus, Oct. 27.—The Industrial
!Index says in its issue for this week:
! “There is a great volume of busi
ness in sthe Southeast, with a great
lamount of money in circulation.
| Many different sources of revenue
have been yielding largely, business
is excellent in various lines, payrolls
};lre greater in the aggregate than ever
ll)efore, perhaps, and the season is
l-nroving as good as was anticipated—
|in many respects better.
“It is felt that prosperity has just
made a beginning, and that, with a
substantial foundation, it will be con
tinuous. Next year, it is expected,
will be the best business year the
South has ever known. And there are
good reasons for the belief.
“The erection of many residences
is typical of the growth of this sec
tion. A company at Miami, Fla.,
which owns a coast tract of 265 acres
has perfected financial arrangements
for the continuous building of resi
dences to cost $2,500 and up. The
cost of thirteen residences now be
ing erected at Miami, including im
[provements of groumds, is estimated
to amount to approximately $8,652,-
000. nlcluded in this are the two
Deering estates, estimated at $4,000,-
000. Included in this are the two
‘and one at $150,000. The construction
of a $lOO,OOO residence in Savannah,
'Ga., has just been begun. A cotton
‘mill company in Great Falls, S. C.,
has awarded a contract for the erec
tion of 100 residences of one and
two stories for employes.
“A total of eighteen corporations!
have been organized during the week |
with minimum capital stocks aggre
gating $1,046,500.
