The Crisp Medical Society enter
tained at a delightful luncheon at the
Crystal Cafe Wednesday evening in
honor of Dr. Stewart Roberts, of At
lanta, a noted specialist. PDuring the
banquet Dr. Roberts addressed the
members of the society, interestingiy
discussing arterio-selerosis and high
blood pressure. Dr Roberts was called
here from Atlanta to examine Mr. Hi
ram Wheeler, who has been seriously
sick for several weeks from pneumo

RAILROADS OBJECT TO
“TENTATIVE VALUATIONS"
Atlanta, Dec. 22.—Prominent rail
road officials of Atlanta express the
opinion that published statements of
the “tentative valuations” placed upon
railroads by the interstate com
merce commission are by no means
complete ,and hence are much lower
than the actual valuation which the
commission is likely to fix when all of
the details of its survey have been col
lected.
It is claimed as a case in point that
the “tentative valuation” placed upon
the Atlanta, Birringham and Atlantic
railroad, among others, was considera
bly less than the probable actual cost
of reproducing the road, and that sev
eral conspicious examples are to be
found in recent reports emanating
from the interstate commerce commis-
