CONCRETE BRIDGE FOR
QCONEE IS APPROVED
Dublin, Ga.—The county commis
sioners of Laurens were notified
Monday c¢f this week that their pro
ject for $75.000 for a bridge over the
Qconee river had been approved by
the State Highway Commission, Ac
cording to the law, the county will
ncw have to put an equal amount to
be used on this hridge.
This is one of the most important
bridges in South Georgia and it is
very likely that the commissioners
will have the money forth-coming in
crdar to participate in the federal
funds. It is proposed to construct a
c¢pnerete bridge which will be perma
nent.
An English railroad Lias equipped a
leng, high bridge \\}'th automatic wind
guages, which set signals against
trains when the wind blows at a dan
gerous velocity. X
