Col. George W. Westmoreland
has purchased the building on Wash
ington street, formerly occupied by
Mr. A. E. Pittman, and has had the
same completely repainted and pa
pered, and arranged for a most at
tractive and convenient law office.
He moved into his new office on
Tuesday.

Mrs. T. N. Suddeth attended the
burial service of their cousin, Mrs.
Oneta Henderson, at Midway church,
Banks county, Friday. Mrs. Hen
derson was a daughter of Mrs. Sud
deth yand the late Mr. Fate Suddeth.
She passed away at Downey Hos
pital, Gainesville.
Col. and Mrs. J. S. Ayers, who at
tended the graduation exercises at
Yale, and enjoyed a motor trip
through the New England States,
and visited friends in Massachusetts
and New York, have returned home.
Richard Ayers, who graduated from
Yale, returned with them.
Mr. Frantis Johnston, who has
been attending a house party in
Nashville, Tenn., returned home
Monday, and was accompanied by
his cousin, Miss Virginia Walker,

$9,500 to Miss Stella Akin, of Sa
vannah, secretary of the state demo
cratic executive committee, in en
try fees.
The ten candidates for governor
paid $250 each as did the three can
ddates for the two United States
Senate seats.
Candidates for the remaining of
fices paid $l5O each.
An exception was made in those
qualifying for the post of the court
of appeals to succeed Judge R. C.
BeH, who was named to the su
preme court bench. In this case
the entry fee was put at SIOO.

Mrs. Lon Brown died at her home
near Dry Pond, Tuesday, and was
buried at Oconee church cemetery
Wednesday. She was 57 years old,
and had many friends and relatives,
who are grieved at her passing.

Mrs. Lee Love, Sunday.
We regret to hear that Little
Misses Fannie Love has typhoid
fever.
