Dr. C. Griggs Thomason, who
graduated recently from the Augusta
Medical college and has since been
'isiting his parents, Rev. and Mrs.

leave this week for Atlanta, where
he will be connected with the Geor
gia Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Thomason
and their little son will remain in
Jefferson during the summer.

Mrs. Nettie Allgood of Athens
spent last week in Jefferson with
her grandmother, Mrs. W. C. Wills,
and other relatives.
Mrs. J. E. Randolph and Miss
Dorothy Randolph were in Athens
Wednesday, guests of Mrs. Alice
Towns, who was celebrating her
eightieth birthday.
All the members of the Methodist
church and Sunday school are ex
pected to attend a picnic at Niblaek’s
pasture this, Thursday, afternoon at
8 o’clock, and carry along with them
a picnic lunch. Those who have no
way of reaching the picnic grounds
will be taken care of if they will as
semble on the public square at the
hour designated. If the weather is
such that it is not practical to have
the picnic at Niblack’s pasture, it
will be held in the basketball court,
on the Institute campus.

PRESBYTERIAN YOUNG PEOPLE
TO MEET AT TOCCOA
Gainesville, Ga.—Rev. Marshall
Dendy, pastor of the First Presby
terian Church, of Gainesville, has
been chosen to conduct the annual
conference of the Presbyterian young
people of the Athens Presbytery to
be held at Toccoa Falls Institute,
July 3-7, which will bring together
representatives from the various
young people’s societies from all over
northeast Georgia.

Little Mary Alice Whitehead,

getting one of her limbs broken last
week, and has suffered severe pain

Besides the usual business meet
ing, reading of minutes of last meet
ing and collection of dues, plans were
made to visit the County Farm.
After Mrs. Maddox gave the last
chapter, “Missions in the Bible,” so
beautifully and clearly, there was
left no doubt in the hearers mind of
the road we must travel to find
peace in our future Home.
