The members of the Jefferson
Methodist church have enjoyed two
very delightful occasions recently—a
Sunday school picnic on June 22, and
the meeting of The Brotherhood at
the church on last even
ing. Both events were most enjoy
able. The members of The Brother
hood, their wives and lady friends
were served a delicious picnic supper
on the lawn of the church at 7 o’-
clock by Circle No. 2 of the Mission

Mr. R. B. Maxwell left Sunday for
Chicago to spend two weeks with R.
B. Maxwell, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Maxwell, and to attend the
World's Fair.
Mrs. Laßoon and Mr. George La-
Boon of Good Hope, and Mrs. Pres
ton of Macon, were guests last week
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George
W. Foster.
Mr. Hope Loggins was called to
Holly Springs this week to see his
mother, Mrs. E. C. Loggins, who has
been quite sick. We are glad to
state that Mrs. Loggins is some bet
ter.
Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Moore were in
Atlanta last week to see Mrs. C. O.
Brock, who has been quite sick dur
ing her visit there. She is very much
better, and is expected home this
week.

SEWING CLUB ENJOYS SEVERAL
MEETINGS
The Ladies Sewing Club has en
joyed several meetings recently.
On June 22 Mrs. L. J. Lyle had
as her guests Mesdames C. E. Hardy,
W. H. Hosch, Joe DeFoor, A. M.
Hardy and C. Y. Daniel.
On June 28 this club met with
Mrs. A. M. Hardy, who entertained
Mesdames C. Y. Daniel, G. D. Apple
by, A. S. Johnson, G. W. Westmore
land, W. 11. Hosch, C. E. Hardy, Joe
DeFoor, C. B. Lord and L. J. Lyle.
Another enjoyable meeting of this
club was held at the home of Mrs.
C. Y. Daniel on July 5, who had as
her guests, Mesdames L. J. Lyle, A.
M. Hardy, C. B. Lord, C. E. Hardy,
G. D. Appleby, Joe DeFoor and W.
H. Hosch.
THE JACKSON COUNTY SINGING
CONVENTION
Just to remind you that it is only
a short time until the Jackson Coun
ty Singing Convention will meet,
July 22, 23, 1933. And, the place is
Cabin Creek Baptist Church.
We have had the assurance of the
presence of quite a number of music
publishers and leaders at our con
vention, covering at least ten coun
ties, and that means we are going to
have the smgingest time you ever
heard.
Too, we want to jjoin with Cabin
Creek in the entertainment. We note
they are going a hundred per cent
strong, and have appointed Messrs.
H. L. Hutchins, Garnett Lord and
Will Wilson as a Committee on En
tertainment. The fact that you live
in the county, ar.d that this is a
county-wide affair, means you should
i and will carry a well filled basket
both days.
Now, all roads will lead to Cabin
Creek on the above date, and wc
hope to have the pleasure of meeting
you there.
