The liquor fight is coming in Mor
gan, we are told. It is a matter
about which it is difficult for many
pepole to keep their bearings. Abuse
and bad temper do not help any
cause. If Morgan county is kept in
the dry column—and we believe it
will be—the men will keep it there.
We believe it is the job for the men.

BAD ADVICE
Commissioner of Agriculture Tom
Linder startle ! Georgia conserva
tionists last week by advising land
owners to carefully burn off their
wood'k once a year or at leant every
two years. The advice v/as in the
Georgia Market Bulletin.
The Macon Telegraph has never
been able to see anything but desola
tion in the burning of woods. It is
done for the sake of three months
grazing, but it is a most expensive
way to get grazing.
The Herald-Journal agrees with
The Macon Telegraph. It is our op
inion that Commissioner Linder has
pulled a terrible bone with such ad
vice from a high source.
It is no wonder that the farmers
of Georgia are in a “hell of a mess.
