tue of an order of the Court of
Ordinary of Banks County, granted
upon the application of John P.
Hale, as the executor of the last
will and testament of R. J. Hale,
deceased, late of Banks County,
Georgia, to sell the lands of the said
testator, R. J. Hale, deceased, for
the purpose of distribution, and in
pursuance to an order passed by the
Superior Court of Banks County,
Georgia, dated March 21, 1938, there
will be sold before the court house
door at public outcry, to the highest
bidder, in the Town of Homer, Banks
County, Georgia, between the legal
hours of sale, on the first Tuesday
in May, 1938, as the property of
said deceased, the following de
scribed land, to-wit:
A certain tract, piece or parcel of
land situated, lying and being in Mil
ler’s District, G. M., of Jackson
County, Georgia, containing three
hundred (300) acres, more or less,
bounded on the north by lands of
T. N. Highfield and J. W. Webb, on
the east by lands of J. W. Webb and
Dick Moore’s estate, on the south by
lands of Guy Strickland and Charl
ton Loggins, and on the west by
lands of Mrs. W. M. Tolbert; said
lands being on the public road lead
ing from Maysville to Pendergrass,
known as the R. J. Hale home place,
and fully described in a plat made
by W. T. Bennett, Surveyor Jackson
County, Georgia, said plat dated Feb
ruary 21st, 1883; also described in
a deed from J. B. Donahoo to R. J.
Hale, dated February 21st, 1883,
which said plat and deed are hereby
referred to and made a part hereof.

executed by L. P. Whitehead to The
r ederal Land Bank of Columbia,
dated the 18th day of January,
1926, and recorded in the clerk’s
office of the Jackson County Super

the undersigned has declared the
lull amount of the indebtedness re
ferred to due and payable, and, act
ing under the power of sale contain
ed in said deed, for the purpose of
paying said indebtedness, will on the
first Tuesday in May, 1938, during
the legal hours of sale at the court
house in said county, sell at public
outcry to the highest bidder for
cash, the lands described in said

The life interest of Mrs. E. P.
Freeman bequeathed to the latter
under the terms of the will of E. P.
Freeman, late of Jackson county,

containing about 85 acres, more or

Public Welfare Work in
Jackson County
Atlanta, Ga., April I.—Jackson
county received a total of $7,933.33
for public welfare and relief pur
poses during the month of February,
a report of the State Department of
Public Welfare shows.
Of the sum received, $2,856.00
was for social security payments to
needy aged, the needy blind, and de
pendent children.
Surplus commodities valued at
$1,432.33 were distributed in the
county. Wages paid by the Works
Progress Administration amounted
to $1,221.00, while the return to
families having sons in the Civilian
Conservation Corps was $2,400.00.
General relief expenditures by the
county were $24.00, this sum repre
senting the expenditures of the
county for the aid of persons not
eligible for WPA work, C.CC enroll
ment, or any form of social security.
The total expenditures for the
state as a whole during the month
were $1,922,789.70, distributed as
follows:
Social security payments, $336,-
143.50.
Surplus commodities, $223,681.32.
WPA wages, $1,120,043.00.
CCC, $193,150.00.
General relief (local funds), $49,-
771.88.
BROTHER OF HOSCHTON
CITIZEN PASSES
Logansville, Ga.—John R. Wilson,
father of Secretary of State John B.
Wilson, and a brother of B. F. Wil
son of Hoschtoiv, died at his home
near Loganville, Wednesday. He
would have observed his 88th birth
day anniversary April 11. Besides
his wife, he is survived by five
daughters, Mrs. W. D. Watson, Mrs.
L. G. Tuck, Miss Silla Wilson and
Miss Kate Wilson, all of Loganville,
and Mrs. W. J. Ivey, of East Point;
and two sons, John B. Wilson, of
Atlanta, and J. D. Wilson, of Chat
tanooga.
