Section 1.
Be it enacted by the General
Assembly of the State of Georgia,
and it is hereby enacted by author
ity of the same, that Article 7,
Section 7, Paragraph 1 of the
Constitution of Georgia, which has
Theretofore been amended, shall be
further amended by adding at the
nd thereof anew paragraph, in
the following words, to-wit:
“And except that the Claxton
School District of Evans County
may issue refunding bonds not in
xcess of the aggregate sum of
for the purpose of re
funding and retiring any bonded
indebtedness and interest thereon
f said school District outstanding,
past due and unpaid on January
il, 1941, and any bonded indebted
ness and interest thereon of said
School District outstanding and
which becomes due up to and in
cluding July 1, 1941, and provide
•for the assessment and collection
-of an annual tax, sufficient in
.amount to pay the principal and.in
terest of said bonds as they fall
.due; the proceeds of all such re
funding bonds so issued by the
Claxton School District of Evans
{County to be used exclusively for
:the purpose of paying and retiring
said bonded indebtedness and in
terest thereon due and unpaid as
jof January 1, 1941, and any bond
ed indebtedness and interest

Section 2.
Be it further enacted by the au
thority aforesaid, that when said
4 amendment shall be agreed to by
jtwo-thirds vote of the members of
j*aeh House, with the “ayes” and
•■“nays” thereon, and published in
ne or more newspapers in each
‘Congressional District in this
'State for two months previous to
the time for holding the next gen
jeral election, at which proposed
amendments to the Constitution of
tni* state may De voted on, and
shall at said general election be
submitted to the people for rati
fication. All persons voting at
said election in favor of adopting
the said proposed amendment to
the Constitution shall have written
or printed on their the
words, “For ratification of amend
ment of Article 7, Section 7, Par
agraph 1, of the Constitution au
thorising the Claxton School
District of Evans County to issue
refunding bonds,” and all persona
oppossd to the adopting of said
amendment shall bava written or
printed on their ballote the words,
“Against ratification of amend
ment of Artiele 7, Section 7, Par
agraph 1 ef the Coasti tut ion au
thorising the Claxton School Dis
trict of Evans County, to is
sue refunding bonds.” And

WHEREAS, by the vote* of two
thirds of the members elected to
each of the two Houses, the Gen
eral Assembly has proposed by a
resolution approved February 26,
1941, that Article 7, Section 7,
Paragraph 1 of the Constitution
of Georgia be amended by adding
thereto anew Paragraph in the
following words, to wit:
“And except that Sparks-Adel
Consolidated School District of
Cook County may issue refunding
bonds not in excess of the aggre
gate sum of $22,000.00, for the
purpose of refunding and retiring
any bonded indebtedness and in
terest thereon of said School Dis
trict outstanding, past due and un
paid on February 1, 1941, and any
bonded indebtedness and interest
thereon of said School District
outstanding and which becomes
due up to and including February
1, 1945, and provide for the as
sessment and collection of an
annual tax, sufficient in amount to
pay the principal and interest of
said bonds as they fall due; the
proceeds of all auch refunding
bonds ao issued by. Sparks-Adel
Consolidated School District of
Cook County to be used exclusive
ly for the purpose.- of paying and
retiring said bonded indebtedness
and interest thereon past due and
unpaid as of February 1, 1941,
and any bonded indebtedness and
interest thereon outstanding and
which becomes due up to and in
cluding February 1, 1945. Said
refunding bonds shall be issued
when authorized by a resolution
by the Board of Trustees of
Sparks-Adel Consolidated School
District, and shall ,be validated as
provided by law.”

1. That this proclamation be
published in one newspaper in each
Congressional District of the State
for two months previous to the
time of holding the next general
election, to wit, on Tuesday after
the first Monday in June, 1941.

WHEREAS, by tho votes of

ed under the laws of this state for

electrification; as DEFINED IN
SUBSECTION 1 OF SECTION S.
OF THE ACT APPROVED

FOR THEIR INCORPORATION,
and all of tho real and 'personal '
property owned or bold by such
corporations for such ynrpoee. The
exemption herein Provided for
shall expire twenty year* front

of State, who shall canvays the
same, ascertain the result of such
election and certify the same to
the Governor as provided by law.
