members of the Youth Crusade of
Athens. It was a type of program
that every one enjoyed.

Gainesville spent the week-end with

Orr’s regrets very much to know
of the continued illness of Mrs.
Mary E. Dowdy at her home near
here.
Mr. John A. Harris of Barrow
county was calling here on Sunday
after a visit to see his mother, Mrs.
Fannie Harris who continues quite
ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Beverly Henry in Commerce.
Among those calling on Mrs. J.
L. Harris on Sunday were Mrs. A.
D. MeCurry, Mrs. J. W. Griffeth and
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Burch of Wind
er.
Mrs. Joe Harris and two sons
spent Sunday guests of her parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Harris and
son, Fred, visited Sunday with Mrs.
Susan Brock and Mrs. Fannie Free
man.
Miss Mary Wier was among those
representing Orr’s at the singing at
Caibin Creek church on Sunday
night.
Mr. and Mrs. I. P. Hanson and
family and Mrs. J. L. Harris were
dinner guests on Saturday of Mr.
and Mrs. Webbie Wilson.
Mr. and Mrs. Luther Freeman and
three daughters, Misses Reba, Mar

News just received here that Miss
Maud Harris who has been in hos
pital for some weeks has just re
turned to the home of her fathqf,
Mr. Frank Harris at Statesboro,
improving from her recent illness.

The Bible Class met at Mr. Jim
Patrick’s last Sunday night. There
was a very large crowd. It will
meet at Mrs. W. J. Whitlock’s next
Sunday night. Everybody come and
bring someone with you.
Several from this community at
tended services at Pond Fork. Rev.
McNeal preached a very fine sermon.
It was enjoyed by all.
This community was saddened
when the report came of Mr. Grover
Mathis death. We extend our sym
pathy to the bereaved.

visited Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Mote re
cently.

The farmers around here are very
busy these pretty days as sprint; is
here. Some of us already huve our
gardens partly planted, and if this
! pretty weather continues very long
we hope to have more done.
Several in this community have
been having measles, but all are do
! ing nicely.
The house of Mr. and Mrs. John
Weatherly was destroyed by fire

very little was saved.
Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Kinney had
as their guests Saturday night Mr.
and Mrs. Hubert Kinney of Craw
ford, Mr. and Mrs. Odis Tanner and
family near Walnut.
Mr. and Mrs. Bonnie Hunt of Bu
ford spent Saturday afternoon with
Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Peebles.
Mrs. C. C. Allen and children
spent Sunday afternoon with Mr.
and Mrs. Wince Bryant.
Those visiting Mr. and Mrs. V. A.
Kinney Sunday afternoon were their
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Still,
