Mr. Sherwood Johnson made a

and while there was the guest for

E. G. Logging of Winder, former
citizen of Jackson County, who was
one of the organizers of the Possum
Creek Bible Class, spent a few
hours in Jefferson Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. John H'. Mobley
were ghests Sunday night of Mrs.
M. L. Mobley. They were returning
to the State University, after spend
ing the spring vacation with Mrs.
Mobley’s mother in Atlanta.
It is a pleasure to state that Mrs.
F. E. Crutcher has recovered from
her recent illness sufficiently to vis
her home town of Calhoun. She and
Rev. Crutcher spent a few days
there last week.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Williamson of
Arcade have two sons, George and
Wyatt, fighting for their country
on foreign soil. A cablegram to
their parents last week brought the
cheering information that they had
spent several hours together.
Mrs. Catherine Chandler of Ashe
ville, N. C., has returned home after
several weeks visit with Mr. and
Mrs. J. D. Eckles. Mrs. Chandler
has lived in Asheville 45 years and
in the same home 42 years, 308 Pat
ton Avenue.

Mrs. G. L. Mayfield, the former
Miss Nettie Wright, who has been
with the Carwood Manufacturing
Company of Winder, is now associ
ated with this company in Cornelia.
Her husband, Grover L. Mayfield,
is overseas, serving with the Field
Artillery in the Philippines.
