POULTRY ORDER
VIOLATORS ARE
SENT TO PRISON
Gainesville News
Two men were sentenced this
week to nine months' imprison
ment and one to six months, in
Gainesville, for the violation of War
Food Order 119, the poultry freeze
order, by Judge Robert Russell of
the U. S. District Court here for
the Northern District of Georgia.
They were Victor E. Lang, a truck
driver, and E. Clyde Pendley. chick
en dealer, sentenced to nine months,
and Wiley Bagby, poultry producer,
with a sentence of six months.
THURSDAY. MAY 17. 1945
Lang and Pendley were released
on SI,OOO bond each for 30 days to
arrange their personal affairs, while
Bagby was released on a SSOO bond.
MRS. DAUGHTRY IS
BURIED IN COMMERCE
Mrs. Mary Clifford Daughtry,
Widow of the late R. L. Daughtry,
who was, during his life, a promi
nent merchant in Commerce, deid
last week in an Atlanta hospital, at
the age of 87.
Interment was in the cemetery in
Commerce. She is survived by a
daughter, Mrs. Weldon F. Stark, of
Columbia, S. C., and a son, W. L.
Daughtry, of Atlanta.
