Memorial
In loving memory of our dear
wife and mother, Manola Brown
Perry, who departed this life June
22, 1944.
Never a sigh for the cares she bore
for us,
Never a thought of the joys that
flew by;
Her one regret that she couldn’t do
more for us,
Thoughtless and selfish her masters
were we.
Oh, the long nights that she lame
at our call
Oh, the touch of her hand on our
brow!
Oh, the long years she gave for us
all
Oh, how we yearn for her gentle
call.
Slave to her family! Yes, that was
the way of her,
Counting her greatest services
small,
Words cannot tell what our lone
hearts would say of her,
Mother—the sweetest and fairest of
all.,
