JOEL W. FREEMAN
CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY
On Sunday, September 18, 1949,
Joel W. Freeman celebrated his 90th
birthday at his home west of Nich
olson.

A bounteous feast of good rations
was spread at the noon hour, which
was enjoyed very much by all those
present.
All the guests departed in the
afternoon, wishing for Mr. Freeman
many more such happy returns.

On October 3rd, 7:00 P. M. the
Farm Bureau and Auxiliary will
hold their regular meeting. Be sure

a Health and Sanitation Supervisor,
Mr. Johnston, of Atlanta, visited
our school last week. Special efforts
ate being made to re-classify our

A group of members from the
Young People’s Department of the
Talmo Baptist Training Union met
at the home of Miss Faye Morgan
on Tuesday night for a spiritual
program followed by a lunch pre
pared by the young ladies of this
Union.
Mr. Paul Blackstock was at home
over the week-end.
The Talmo Y. W. A.’s met at the
home of Miss Nora Bridges on Mon
day night, September 26th. There
were thirteen girls present with two
visitors, Misses Frances Stephens
and Lois Cox of Gainesville. The
program which was presented by
Miss Annie Lou Kinney was follow
ed by refreshments.
Miss Sara Barrett of Gainesville,
was guest i#i the home of Miss Char
lotte Hawkins on Sunday.
Miss Sybil Hendrix, who has been
connected with Downey hospital
for the past two months, will return
to Crawford W. Long Hospital, At
lanta, Georgia, this week to resume
her responsibilities as a student
nurse.
