ADVANCES TO ‘SUPER BOWL’
The Jefferson 7-year-old Dragons were victorious on Saturday defeating the
Chestatee War Eagles 24-0. They extended their record to 9-0 (7-0). They will advance
to the NGYFA Super Bowl on Saturday, November 15, and face the undefeated
Rabun County Wildcats at 10:30 a.m. in Dawsonville. The Dragons are coached by:
Jason Gibson (HC), Jon Ray, Paul Harkins (DC), Gerry Gerbig and Greg Bell. Shown
are: Jasper Gibson, Nate Ray, Braden Gerbig, Brett Bell, Collin Harkins, Garmon
Randolph, David Wolfe, Jack Kelly, Nathan Collins, Dylan Childress, Cody Bare,
Joshua Bryant, Tripp Bullock, Justin Keller, Tucker Kirk, Jacob Mashburn, Joshua
Massey, McKay Melnick, John Middleton and Brandon Norris.
ENDS SEASON 8-3
The Jefferson 10-year-old Dragons were dealt a crushing defeat on Saturday in
Dahlonega as they fell 6-0 to the 8-2 (4-2) White County Warriors. The Dragons entered
the playoffs as the South 10-year-old Division #2 seed after a 6-2 (4-2) regular season.
They prevailed in their Round 1 game against the Lumpkin County Indians 12-6. The
Dragons finished the year 8-3 (4-2). The Dragons are coached by: Jeff Cole (HC), Jon
Ray, Howard Pollock, Chuck Chapeau, Joey Wright (DC) and Tommy Corbett. Shown
are: Jonathan Ray, Josh Cole, Malik Tuck, Alex Corbett, Jason Perkins, Blake Wright,
Walt Chapeau, Joseph Randolph, Nicholas Page, Matthew Hitt, Austin Phillips,
Kyle Crumley, Trey Halley, Jacob Matlock, Jaxon Vadner, Jonathan Williams, Steve
Wofford, Zach Barber, Brett Carson, Justin Roberts, Joshua Nix and Evan Mobley.
WINS CHAMPIONSHIP
The Jefferson Parks and Recreation 12-year-old Red Dragons won the North Georgia
Youth Football Association Southern Conference Championship this past Saturday
in Dahlonega. Shown are: (kneeling) Maverick McKinney, Tyler Weaver, Price Joiner,
Tradd Porter, Tarvis Rakestraw, Andy Nicolaus, Julian Branch, Chris Matthews, Hanon

and Recreation 12-year-old
Red Dragons won the North
Georgia Youth Football
Association Southern
Conference Championship this
past Saturday in Dahlonega.
The Dragons defeated the
Lumpkin County Indians 27
to 19. Jefferson had already
knocked off the undefeated
Chestatee War Eagles in the
first round of the playoffs 18
to 6.
Against Lumpkin County, the
Dragons scored on touchdown
runs by Hanon Price, Andy
Nicolaus and Vance Holcombe.
Price also scored on a touch
down pass from Tradd Porter.
Nicolaus also kicked one extra
point in the win. In both wins,
the Dragons ran behind their
massive Offensive Line who
road graded the competition.
Jefferson now advances to
the NGYFA Championship
Game where they will face
the Northern Conference
Champion Gilmer County
Bobcats. The game will be
held at Dawson County High
School on Saturday, November
15, at 4:30 p.m. The NGYFA
is made up of 12 recreation
departments throughout North
Georgia.
Both the 7 and 8 year old
teams from Jefferson also made
it to the championship games
next weekend.
TO FACE UNION COUNTY SATURDAY
The Jefferson 8-year-old Dragons prevailed in one of their closest games of the
season on Saturday in Dahlonega. The Dragons held off the White County Warriors
12-0 and will face the Union County Panthers on Saturday, November 15 at noon
in Dawsonville. The Dragons have marched to an undefeated 10-0 (8-0) record. The
Dragons are coached by: Chuck Chapeau (HC), John Blackstock, Mitch Guthrie
(OC), Richard Meadows, Corey Wood, Marvin Johnson, Tommy Corbett, McKinley
Jones and Jeff Cole. Shown are: Clayton Jones, Toby Chapeau, Billy Guthrie, Jamal
Meadows, Raylon Meadows, Hart Blackstock, Colby Wood, Cole Potts, Dorian
Johnson, Cory Fritsch, Kevin Anderson, John Barrett, Addison Clay, Justin Cole, Eli
