Methodist Church Prime
Time Group will meet at 12
noon Thursday, Nov. 13, in the
church fellowship hall. This
will be a covered dish lun
cheon and the program may
feature “Kenny Rogers” say
leaders.
Jefferson Presbyterian
Church will hold its “Scot
Fest” Saturday, Nov. 15, from
4 to 7 p.m. There will be
Scottish dancing, music, high
land games for children and
adults and food. The event will
culminate in a bonfire and fam
ily re-dedication. The event is
free and everyone is welcome.

The First Baptist Church
of Commerce crafts group
will hold their annual art and
crafts fair Friday and Saturday,
Nov. 15 and 16, from 9 a.m. to
4 p.m. The fair will be held at
the groups’ craft house, locat
ed on Scott Street across from
the church. All proceeds will
go to support church missions.

Unity Christian Church,
Maysville, will hold a fish fry
Saturday, Nov. 15, from 4 to
6 p.m. The menu will include
fried catfish, chicken strips,
fries, hush puppies, slaw, des
sert and tea. All donations will
go toward the church building
fund. The church is located
at 70 Unity Church Circle.

Holly Springs United
Methodist Church will hold
its annual holiday market
Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m. A $5 luncheon
of homemade soup and chili
will be served. The follow
ing items will be available to
purchase: homemade cakes
and pies, Thanksgiving and
Christmas wreaths, handmade
ornaments, homemade jelly
and preserves and pecans.
There will also be an indoor/
outdoor yard sale featuring
children’s books, household
items, decor, linens and toys.

Oconee Baptist Church,
Dry Pond, will hold a clothes
closet Saturday, Nov. 15, from

Lebenon United Methodist
Church, Jefferson, will hold
a Bar-B-Que plate fundraiser
and bake sale Saturday, Nov.
15, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The menu will include pork
or chicken, cole slaw, baked
beans, Brunswick stew and
bread. A $6.50 donation per
plate will be taken. Pork will be
sold for $9 a pound, stew $7.50
a quart and a BBQ sandwich

hold a spaghetti supper fund
raiser for the new building
fund Sunday, Nov. 16, from 12

for adults and $3 for children
twelve and under. Carryout

Jefferson First United
Methodist Church members
are urged to get their shoe-
boxes ready. Sunday, Nov. 16,
is the final date for turning in
the Samaritan’s Purse shoe-
boxes in “Operation Christmas
Child.” Members are urged to
start collecting such things as
small toys, school supplies,
hygiene items, sunglasses,
hard candy, gum, socks, ball
caps and hair clips. Pamphlets
giving more details are avail
able in the church’s back hall

New Faith and Arrendall
Methodist Church,
Commerce, will celebrate its
“Youth Day” Sunday, Nov. 16,
at 11 a.m. The theme will
be “Remember Thy Creator
In The Days of Thy Youth.”
