HALLOWEEN FIELD TRIP
April Stephenson and Mary Ludeman’s North Jackson Elementary School Pre-K
class went on a field trip to Goldbrook Pumpkin Patch in Lula on Oct. 30. There they
enjoyed learning about the corn mill, going on a hayride and eating popcorn while
watching a movie outside. On the hayride, they saw bears, the three little pigs, Bugs
Bunny, the five little monkeys jumping on the bed, the pilgrims and pumpkins.
LUSH HONORED BY SAM’S CLUB
Stephen Lush, a fourth grade teacher at South Jackson Elementary School, was
recently honored as Teacher of the Year by Sam’s Club. Nick Trovato, Rody Bunda
and Jeff Woods of Sam’s Club presented Lush with the award, a $100 gift card for
his classroom, and a $1,000 grant for the school. Lush is shown with his class; Pam
Johns, principal; and Resa Brooksher, assistant principal for instruction.
FIRE SAFETY AT JES
Nicole Martin and Suzanne Slaughter have been discussing safety with their
kindergarten students at Jefferson Elementary School. Fireman Al Adkins, an
Atlanta fireman, came to discuss fire safety with their class. Shown are: (back row)

FCCLA VISITS CHILDREN
Ten members of the East Jackson Comprehensive High School Family, Career and
Community Leaders of America Club visited the children in Athens Regional on
Thursday, October 30. FCCLA’ers gave out goody bags full of age appropriate activi
ties and read the children a storybook. Members attending were: (standing, L-R)
Macy Gordon, Rachel Crane, Alycia Garth, Diana Hurst and Kristen Adkinson; and
(kneeling, L-R) Amber Adkinson, Ashley Bartel, Kayla Miller, Hayley Ray and Sara
Hollis.
