ANNUAL PUMPKIN CONTEST
Competition was incredible at Bright Beginnings this year as teachers designed and
decorated pumpkins with the help of their students. The parents served as judges by
casting votes to determine the winners. The first place winner was “Mr. Turkey,” sub
mitted by Heather Jenkins and 3-year-old students. Second place winner was “Dora
& Boots,” submitted by Tyounder Ofori and Ashley Puntervold and their Pre-K stu
dents. The third place winner was “Oscar the Grouch,” submitted by Kelly Phillips,
Erin Simmons and their Pre-K students. The winners were awarded gift certificates
and special treats for their classrooms. Also competing in the contest were Santa
Clause, Snowman, Witch, Black Cat, Pirate, Mummy, Georgia Bulldog, Ms. M&M,
Bunny, Scarecrow, and Mr. Potato Head.
RED RIBBON WEEK
Maysville Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon Week
with many activities to encourage students to be drug
free. Kim Reaves’ second grade class had 100 percent
participation during Red Day.
FEAST AT EJES
Mrs. Anne Freeman joined her twin grandchildren,
Andrew and Anna Bruce, at the East Jackson Elementary
School Thanksgiving feast at the school Friday.
THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION
Benton Elementary School recently held a Thanksgiving
celebration. Families were invited to come eat lunch
with the students. Michaela Kidd enjoys Thanksgiving
lunch with her parents, Susan and Michael.
