Methodist Church has added
a job board page to its web
site at commercefumc.org.
Leaders state, “There are a
growing number of people who
have lost their jobs recently
as a result of the downturn
in the economy. The church
has responded by adding this
page.” The link to the page is
at the top of the left side menu.
Job seekers and employers
with job openings throughout
the community can send infor
mation to jobboard@commer-
cefumc.org. The job board will
be more fully automated in
the near future. The church is

Angel Food Ministries is
now accepting orders online
using a debit or credit card.
Manual orders using a check,
cash, money order or food
stamps must be pre-paid. Faith
Baptist Church, Jefferson, is
now accepting orders for the
February menu using any of
these methods. Orders will be
taken until Monday, February
16, at 4 p.m. for manual orders
and 10 p.m. for online orders.
The pick-up date of orders will
be Saturday, February 21, from
8 to 9 a.m., in the church’s fel
lowship building. Organizers
ask that orders be placed as
soon as possible. Any orders
not picked up by 9 a.m. will
be sold or donated unless prior
arrangements have been made.

ing registrations for the 2009
-2010 school year. Three and

Mountain Creek Baptist
Church, Pendergrass, will
have its thrift store open every
Thursday through Saturday,
from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There
will be pecans for sale, soft
shell jumbo and small, as well
as sheets, comforters, clothes
for infants to adults, shoes,
household items, furniture,
toys, movies, etc. All pro
ceeds will go to the church
food ministry to help feed the
hungry. Any donations will be
greatly appreciated. For more

ship and Valentine celebra

will be held in the community
room at First Georgia Bank,

lowship, entertainment, door
prizes and pictures will be
taken. The event is for adults
only. Tickets will be $10 and
proceeds will go towards the
church. Tickets must be pur
chased by Tuesday, Feb. 10.
No tickets will be sold at the

Church will hold a singing

a mission trip to Brazil with
Rick Bonfim Ministeries.

White Plains Baptist
Church, Jefferson, will hold
a pastor appreciation Sunday,
Feb. 15, from 10:30 a.m. until
after lunch. The appreciation
will be held for the Rev. Jack
Lawson, pastor; the Rev. Benji
Bone, associate pastor and the
Rev. Greg Bagley, minister
of education. There will be
special speakers and special
singing, leaders state. Lunch
will be served following the

Jefferson First United
Methodist Church will hold
a retreat Friday and Saturday,
Feb. 20 and 21. The retreat
is titled “In His Image:
Reflecting His Character and
Love in Lives, Families and
Relationships.” The guest
speakers will be A1 and Beth
Coppedge. Both serve at
Asbury Seminary where Mr.
Coppedge is under appoint
ment from the North Georgia
Conference as Professor of
Theology. Mrs. Coppedge
leads a Titus women’s Bible
study there. Both do speak
ing conferences, retreats and
seminars in the USA and over
seas. The retreat will begin on
Friday with registration at 6
p.m. The first session will be
held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday
registration will be at 12:30
p.m. and sessions two through
five will be held from 1 to 7:30
p.m. Dinner will be served
at 5:45 p.m. with music pro
vided by “Reigning Grace.”
On Sunday, Feb. 22, Mrs.
Coppedge will speak at the 9
and 11 a.m. worship services.
Registration is requested and
the cost for the weekend is $25
per couple or $15 per person.
