JEFFERSON HIGH School
has named the “3D Award”
winners for March, including
Austin Clements, 12th grade;
Marcayla Hester, 11th grade;
Harrison Waldron, 10th grade;
and Paige Keane, ninth grade.
The 3D Student of the
Month Award is part of the
JHS incentive program and
is awarded monthly to four
students - one per grade level -
based on dependability, dedi
cation and diligence. Students
are nominated and chosen by
JHS staff and those chosen
get lunch off campus with the
principal and assistant princi
pal, a T-shirt, photo recogni
tion in the school lobby and
a certificate of recognition at
the honors brunch.
CLEMENTS
Austin Clements' guardians
are Lori and Joe O'Clare.
He is a member of the
Spanish Club, Total Person
Program, Drama Dragons and
the Varsity Academic Bowl
Team, of which he is cap
tain. He is cast as “Slim” in
the upcoming spring musical,
“Oklahoma.”
Clements has lettered in
track. Academic Bowl and
drama. He will be an honor
graduate.
Clements’ favorite school
subjects are English, drama
and history.
After high school, he plans
to pursue a B.F.A. in theatre,
possibly with the Gainesville
Theatre Alliance program at
Gainesville State College.
HESTER
Marcayla Hester is the
daughter of Marvin and Ericka
Johnson.
She is a member of the
Total Person Program, Beta
Club, Spanish Club and is a

CLEMENTS
WALDRON
two-year letterman in varsity
basketball and a three-year
letterman in track. She holds
the 200m record in track.
Hester has attended the
summer studies program at
Duke University twice and
is a member of the National
Spanish Honor Society. She
is a two-time 3D Award win
ner. Hester has been select
ed to participate in the 2009
Scotland Exchange Program
and is a finalist for the 2009
Governor’s Honors Program.
Her favorite course this
semester is advanced place
ment Spanish.
Hester plans to attend a
major university and major in
biomedical engineering.
WALDRON
Harrison Waldron is the son
of Phil and Donna Waldron.
He is vice president of
the Drama Dragons and is
involved in the spring musi
cal, “Oklahoma,” coming up
April 23-25.
Waldron won first place
in dramatic interpretation
KEANE
at region and second place
in the state competition. He
was named for the March 3D
Award in 2008 and was a
member of the all-star cast in
One-Act Play competition.
Waldron’s favorite subjects
are world history and drama.
He plans to go to college and
get a degree in Bible and his
tory. Waldron wants to open a
tourist business, get involved
in mission work all over the
world and “build up to be
the President of the United
States.”
KEANE
Paige Keane is the daughter
of Pamela and John Keane.
She is involved in Drama
Club and will be “Aunt Eller”
in the upcoming production of
“Oklahoma.” Keane has been
awarded a blue card at JHS.
Her favorite subjects
are drama, art, English and
American government.
Keane plans to pursue a
future in drama and art, but
said she is “not sure what I
want to do for a living.”
