JCCHS CHORUS GETS PERFECT SCORE
The Jackson County Comprehensive High School Chorus scored straight I’s, a per
fect rating, in category A, the most difficult of all categories, at GMEA’s Large Group
Performance Evaluation held recently in Dacula. Three judges evaluated students
while they performed two selections, “Fecit potentiam,” Raminsh, and “A Jubilant
Song,” Dello Joio. Students also scored Superior in the sightreading portion of the
event. Todd Chandler is the conductor and Terry Lowry is the accompanist.
KINDERGARTENERS AT MATH NIGHT
Parents of Jefferson Elementary School kindergarten students played math games
with their children during the recent Math Games Night. Parents rotated visiting
each classroom for a demonstration of math games students have learned at
school.
WRITERS RECOGNIZED
Lorali Nelms, MaKenna Lay, and Avery Phillips (front) are pictured with their teach
ers, Carol McDonald, Chrissy Joiner, and Laura Wicklein (back). These students
were chosen to represent Jefferson Elementary School in the Young Georgia
Author’s Writing Contest. They will have their writing sent on to the State DOE for
the District and State Level Contest.

ESSAY CONTEST WINNER
Jefferson Elementary School second grader, Mattie
Jane Cox, recently placed fourth in the Jackson County
Community Outreach Essay Contest. She competed
with elementary students from all schools in Jackson
County. She is pictured with her teacher, Debbie
Smith.
HIGH SCORE AT 4-H EVENT
The Jackson County 4-H S.A.F.E. BB Gun team com-
>eted in a practice BB match hosted by Forsyth County.
Two Jackson County teams competed in this competi-
ion held on Saturday, March 28. Benjamin Rigsby,
>th grader at Jefferson Middle School, was the high
scoring individual for the kneeling position. Benjamin

Tom also serves as the head coach for the Jackson
bounty 4-H BB Gun Teams and as the Northeast
District reprsentive for rifle on the Georgia Project
5.A.F.E Development Committee. The Project S.A.F.E.
Development Committee provides leadership for state
l-H events and meets throughout the year to address
roncerns related to S.A.F.E. activities. They provide
nput and suggestions to state 4-H staff members to
jive direction and improve current programs.
