1,650 ATTEND EASTER AT THE STADIUM
Galilee Christian Church, Jefferson, reported that 1,650 people attended its Easter at the Stadium event Sunday
morning. It was the largest crowd ever in the church’s 138-year history, according to church officials. The event
was held at Jefferson High School football and track stadium and had been in the planning stage for over a
year. The church had 20 different organizing committees that worked on the special Easter morning service.

will hold a spring chicken
stew on Saturday, April 18,

The Jefferson First United
Methodist Church youth will
host a yard sale Friday and
Saturday, April 17 and 18. The
hours will be from 3-6 p.m.
on Friday and from 8 a.m. - 4
p.m. on Saturday. All proceeds
will benefit the youth and chil
dren’s church. The church is

Commerce First United
Methodist Church pas
tor, David Bowen, is cur
rently taking applications for
Confirmation classes. Classes
will begin Sunday, April 19,
at 10 a.m. in the church office.

card, phone call, or personal
conversation. Also, the church
pre-school is currently taking
applications for the next school

Diamond Hill Baptist
Church, Maysville, is holding
a revival through Friday, April
17, at 7 p.m. nightly. The Rev.
Jason Buffington will help the
church pastor the Rev. Elmer
Maddox with the services. The

Madison Street Baptist
Church, Commerce, ladies
are holding a ten-week Bible
study by Beth Moore entitled
“Believing God” that began
Tuesday, April 14. Meetings
will be held every Tuesday
at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship

Freedom Church of God
will hold the following events:
On Saturday, April 18, from
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. a BBQ sand
wich and bake sale. There will
also be homemade ice cream.
The event will be held at
Midway Farm Supply, located

Commerce. On Tuesday, April
21, at 4 p.m. the church's
mobile food pantry will be
open. Erastus Christian
Church will be sponsoring the
pantry. People are asked to
not start lining up until 3 p.m.
The pantry will be open the
third Tuesday of every month.

annual yard sale Saturday,
