Dixie Red Avenue home.
Man pleads guilty to murder
A WHITE County man has
been sentenced to life in pris
on after pleading guilty to the
December 2008 murder of a
Pendergrass youth minister.
William Joseph Dyer, 22,
was reportedly sentenced
last week in Cleveland. A
woman was also charged in
the murder, Jennifer Dawn
Lineberger, 29, but that
charge was dropped after she
pled guilty to theft. She was
reportedly sentenced to three
years in prison.
The body of Edward Frank
Harris, Jr., 44, Clermont, was
found off the roadway near
a vacant house in Cleveland
around 4 a.m. According
to reports, Harris called his
family Sunday night around
7 p.m. from the church in
Pendergrass to say he was
giving “some stranded peo
ple” a ride to Cleveland.
Officers of the Cleveland
Police Department were
assisted in the case by
the Georgia Bureau of
Investigation’s Cleveland
Office, the Office of the
District Attorney for the
Enotah Judicial Circuit,
the White County Sheriff’s
Office and the White County
Coroner’s Office.
