Eula Adamson
LULA - Eula Davis
Adamson, 90, died Sunday,
June 7, 2009, following an
extended illness.
Bom in Banks County on
November 19, 1918, she was
the daughter of the late Thomas
and Coley Carpenter Davis. She
attended Mt. Carmel Baptist
Church and had worked at East
Hall High School in the edu
cation field as a bookkeeper
for many years. Mrs. Adamson
was preceded in death by her
husband, Jesse W. Adamson;
brothers, Clyde and Hoyt Davis;
sisters, Azalea Preveligianos
and Winnie Murray.
Survivors include a son
and daughter-in-law, Ray and
Sandy Adamson, Lula; grand
daughter, Amber Adamson,
Lula; and several nieces and
nephews.

Friday, June 12, at Whitfield

Loretta Bennett, 91, died
Friday, June 12, 2009, at her
residence.
Born in Spalding County,
she was a daughter of the late
Pinkney S. and Minnie B.
Medley Pannell. She was a
caner at Georgia Chair Factory,
and was preceded in death
by her husband, Robert L.
Bennett.
Survivors include a daugh

Calif.

WINDER - Luther Allen
“L.A.” Braseiton Jr., 82, died
Saturday, June 13, 2009.
A native of Hall County,
he was the son of the late
L.A. Braseiton Sr. and Chester
Tanner Braseiton. He was pre
ceded in death by a sister and
brother-in-law, Sara Frances
and Nick Geehr.
He graduated
from Monroe
High School in
1944 and attend
ed the University of Georgia.
He was a member and deacon
emeritus of The Winder First
Baptist Church and attended
the Brotherhood Sunday School
Class, going on mission trips
with his Sunday School Class,
Church and Georgia Baptist
Disaster Teams. Mr. Braseiton
was a retired poultry inspector
with the U.S. Department of
Agriculture, and was a veteran,
having served in the United
States Army during World War
II in the occupation force in
Yokohama, Japan. He was an
avid hunter, fisherman, travel
er, and loved his Lord, Church,
family, friends, the beach and
mountains, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife of
60 years, Margie Dial Braseiton,
Winder; children and spouses.

“Sarge” Gilbert Brown, 57,
died Saturday, June 13, 2009.
He was a member of the Mt.
Olive Baptist
Church, where
he served as a
deacon, and
was a 40-year employee of
Roper Pump Company. He was
a member of Hudson Lodge
294 F&AM, where he served
for many years as secretary,
and was retired from the Army
National Guard.

‘Mikie’ Bullard
WINDER - James “Mikie”
Michael Bullard, 28, died
Sunday, June 14, 2009.
Born in Italy, he was the son
of Jim Bullard of Commerce
and Fran Bullard of Winder. He
was a member of the Bethlehem
First Baptist Church, was a cor
poral with the Clarke County
Fire Department, a realtor
with Maynard and Bartlett
Realty, and a member of the
Barrow County Chamber of
Commerce. He was a graduate
of Winder-Barrow High School
and was active in many sports,
including football, wrestling
and track.
Survivors include his wife,
Brittany Lynn Burney Bullard,
Winder; sons, Parker and Lane
Bullard, Winder; a daughter,
Madilyn Bullard, Winder;
grandparents, Mrs. Chris
Trevino, Holland, Mich., and

served in the United States Air
Force. Mr. Carter was preceded
in death by his wife, Dorothy

Toy Clarke
LULA - Toy Clint Clarke
Jr., 68, died Wednesday, June
10, 2009, at his residence fol
lowing a brief illness.
Born on June 20, 1940, in
Cordele, he was the son of
the late Toy Clint and Evelyn
Brogdon Clarke. He gradu
ated from Crisp County High
School in Cordele and the
University of Georgia, College
of Pharmacy. He worked as
a pharmacist for many years
in Blakely before moving to
Selma, Ala., where he was the
chief pharmacist at a local hos
pital. In 1998 he moved to
Gainesville, where he worked
as a pharmacist at Winn-Dixie
and CVS. Last year he moved
to Lula and retired. He was an
active member of First Baptist
Church of Lula.
Survivors include his wife,
Sharon Clarke, Lula; sons
and daughter-in-law, Mitch
Clarke and Marvin and Sharon
Clarke, all of Gainesville; step
son, Justin Hood, Lula; sister,
Jeannine Chapman, Oakfield;
uncle, James L. “Mott”
Brogdon, Washington, D.C.;
cousin, Kay Billips, Glenville,

WINDSOR, S.C. - Mark
Donald Daniels, 33, died
Monday, June 8, 2009.
Born in Escambia, Fla., on
May 19, 1976, he was the son
of Marlyn Ray Daniels and the
late Helen Marie Day Daniels.
He was of the Baptist denom
ination and enjoyed fishing,
swimming and other water
activities. He also enjoyed
spending time with the family
and his dog, Lexi, loved ones
stated.

Cornelia, include a twin broth
er, Matthew Daniels, Windsor,
S.C.; brothers, Bo Daniels,

at Grady Memorial Hospital,
following injuries received in
a logging
accident.
Born in
Jackson
County on

1952, he
was the son
of the late
Hubert and

Armour
Dyer. He was self-employed in
the logging industry and was
of the Holiness faith. Mr. Dyer
was preceded in death by a
brother, Tony Lamar Dyer. He
enjoyed riding his Harley and
was a loving husband, father
and papa, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife,
Paula Dyer, Lula; daughter
and son-in-law, Sonya and
Kelvin Sloan, Rabbittown;
son, Brett Dyer, Lula; grand
sons, Brandon Kody Sloan and
Thomas Boone Sloan; special

ATHENS - Reba Lee Epps,
77, died Monday, June 8,
2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital
in Athens.
A native of Athens, she was
the daughter of the late Guy M.
and Lula Campbell Lee. She
was a homemaker and was a
loving mother and grandmoth
er, loved ones stated.

Sarah Etheridge
CARL - Sarah T. Etheridge,
84, died Monday, June 8,
2009.
Born in Gwinnett County,
she was the daughter of the late
Warren and Tempie Kilgore
Tuggle. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Alfred
Garfield Etheridge, Sr.; and sis
ters, Vivian Cagle and Dorothy
Mabry. She was a member of
the Midway United Methodist
Church and played basketball
during her high school years
before graduating in 1942.
After retiring from R & R
Manufacturing Company, she
opened her own clothing stores
in Carl and Winder. She was a
past Carl Town Council mem
ber and served as mayor of
Carl, the first female mayor
in Barrow County. A member
of the Eastern Star, she was a
volunteer at Barrow Regional
Medical Center.
Survivors include a son and
daughter-in-law, Alfred G.
“Terpie” and Rose Etheridge,
Carl; grandchildren, Joey
Etheridge, and Debbie and
Redd Martin; great-grand
children, Kelley Martin and
Kimberley Martin; and com

Winifred Hancock
HULL - Winifred B.
Hancock, 87, died Saturday,
June 13, 2009.
Born in Oconee County on
August 28, 1921, she was the
daughter of the late Fred P. and
Nela W. Bell, and was a mem
ber of the Macdonia Baptist
Church. She graduated from
Oconee County High School
in 1939 and retired from the
Northeast Georgia Area
Agency on Aging. After retire
ment, she continued her service
to senior citizens, represent
ing Madison, Elbert, Jackson
and Oglethorpe counties on
the National Council of Silver-
Haired Legislators, meeting
former president Jimmy Carter
and several state senators. She
served on the Senior Citizens
Advisory Council until last
year.
She was very active in the
local community, volunteer
ing with Action, Inc. to serve
the needy
in Madison
County.
She loved
arts and
crafts, win
ning many
awards with
her quilting
and needle
work, rep
resenting
the Madison County Senior
Center in many contests. She
was a founding member of the
Red Hat Society of Madison
County, leading a very active
life. Mrs. Hancock was pre
ceded in death by her hus
band, Robert E. Hancock; and
a brother, Fredrick Bell.
Survivors include daughters,
Barbara Rocker and the late
William Rocker, Danielsville,
Brenda and James Escoe,
Watkinsville, Beverly and
James Smith, Comer, Betty and
Talmadge Horne, Winterville;

She was born on August

Maj. Kevin Jenrette
LULA - Maj. Kevin Michael
Jenrette,
37, died
Thursday,
June 4,
2009, near
K a p i s a
Afghanistan
of wounds
suffered
from an
improvised
explosive
device and small arms fire.
Born on September 2, 1971,
the son of Colonel (Ret.) Albert
W. “Bill” and Ursula Jenrette
of Auburn, Ala. He was a mem
ber of Timber Ridge Baptist
Church.
Upon graduation from
Lyman Ward Military Academy
and North Georgia College,
he was commissioned a 2nd
Lieutenant in the United States
Army, where he became an
Army Ranger and served with
the 25th Infantry Division in
Hawaii. He was promoted to
Captain on July 1, 1999, and
then was an instructor with the
5th Ranger Training Battalion,
Camp Merrill, in Dahlonega. In
2005 he was transferred to the
Georgia Army National Guard,
where he served as a full time
officer with the Recruiting
Sustainment Program, where
he was promoted to Major in
August of 2005. At the time of
his death, he was serving on
the 1-108 RSTA Battalion of
the 48th BCT, Ga ARNG. He
served his country with cour
age, honor and humility.
Survivors include his wife
of would have been 10 years
in July, 2009, Shannon Parker
Jenrette; children, Corey, 7,
Brody, 5, and Megan, 1, all
of Lula; mother and father-in-
law, Kenneth and Linda Parker,
