Born in Hall County, she was

and Ruby Toney. She and her
husband, A.G. Mitchell, found
ed and had operated the hard
ware firm continuously since
1950. She was a member of
the Bethany United Methodist
Church. Mrs. Mitchell was pre
ceded in death by a son, Jerry
Mitchell; and daughter-in-law,
Judy Mitchell.
Survivors include her hus

DANIELSVILLE - Steven
Arthur “Art” Ryder, died
Wednesday, June 10, 2009.
He was the son of Rick and
Sandy Ryder of Danielsville,
and was an avid student with
a passionate heart for learn
ing. He was never so alive
as when he was in the class
room. His interest ranged from
horticulture to music, and was
an accomplished piano, sax
ophone and tuba player. He
achieved the master level in
the 4-H twice and went on
to be the class salutatorian
of the Madison County High
School Class of 1997. He was
a member of the University
of Georgia Redcoat Band and
earned a bachelor of science in
mathematics from UGA, later
earning an MBA from Georgia
State University in actuarial
science and passed the second
level of actuarial exam. He
was currently a student at the
Medical College of Georgia.
Survivors in addition to his
parents, include a sister and
brother-in-law, Sarah and Lee
Chancey, Athens; brothers
and sisters-in-law, Glenn and
Garland Ryder, Danielsville,
and Will Ryder, Athens; grand
mothers, Ruth T. Ryder and
