arrested.
The victim was informed
by EMS that it was not their
decision to make. The sus
pect, Ricky Beatty Jr., 26,
Jefferson, was charged with
battery by the Jackson County
Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement offi
cers were called to the scene
after a neighbor passed by
the home and heard a woman
screaming for help. She went
in and found the woman on
the floor. EMS found new
bruises and old bruises “all
over her body,” according to
the incident report filed at
the Jackson County Sheriff’s
Office.
The neighbor who stopped
by the home said the man
threw her off the porch and
she got a bat to get him to
leave her alone.
Beatty, 26, was shot on May
6 during an altercation with
a man in Nicholson. He was
life-flighted in critical con
dition to Grady Memorial
Hospital with multiple gun
shot wounds and underwent
