A RESIDENCE on Governor Way in
Braselton was broken into while an owner of
the house was down the street visiting the com
munity pool.
The woman’s husband reportedly left the
house shortly after the woman went to the pool.
When he returned, he noticed a bedroom light
was on that he was certain he had turned off.
Upon further investigation, the man noticed
several drawers were open and appeared to
have been rummaged through.
The man then noticed that the screen door on
the back patio had been kicked in.
He informed his wife, who noticed much
of her jewelry was missing, including a Pave
Dia Heart Pendant, valuing at approximately
$2,000, two mesh bracelets and earrings.
There are no suspects at this time.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported by the Braselton
Police Department last week include the fol
lowing:
•a residence dispute on New Liberty Way
where a man became irate after learning that
his parents planned to evict him. The man saw
the eviction notice stating he had 58 days to
move out and he began yelling at his mother
and using foul language. The father of the man
told police that this behavior was typical of the
man and is the reason for the eviction. They
feel that he may become violent and that the
man may be bipolar. After speaking with the
officer, the man packed a few belongings and
left. Police told the parents to Trie an injunction
at the courthouse if they feel the man would
become violent.
•a man and a woman had a dispute over the
man’s erratic driving while leaving the hospital
two days earlier after the woman had given
birth. The woman told police that she felt the
man wanted nothing to do with her and having
no where else to go, she went to a neighbor’s
house with the child. The man stated that he
did not ask the woman to leave but she did so
on her own accord while he went for a drive
to calm down. Both parties agreed that the
woman would stay at the neighbor’s house for
the remainder of the afternoon while the man
stayed at their residence.
•a vehicle was left in the parking lot of Year
One over night and the owner noticed damage
to the vehicle the next day. The damage was
to the windshield and appeared to have been
made by a golf club.
•a female with her two children recently
visited Johnny’s New York Pizza on Spout
Springs Road, in Braselton. Police said that
the women ordered pizza with several toppings
and when she received the bill for $21.65, she
argued that each slice should have been 99
cents. The complainant told the woman that the
99-cent special is only for cheese pizza with no
toppings. The woman became irate and threw
a ten-dollar bill on the table saying that was all
she would pay for it. She left the restaurant and
the complainant got the woman’s tag informa
tion.
•police received a look out for a blue
Chevrolet Blazer whose driver was being reck
less and failing to maintain the proper lane on
1-85 Southbound. The Blazer exited 1-85 onto
Highway 53 and the officer pulled the vehicle
over near the West Jackson Villa Apartments.
The driver, Wanda Denise Payne, after first
denying consuming alcohol, later admitted to
having two shots of vodka earlier in the night.
Upon administering a roadside evaluation,
Payne tested positive for alcohol. She was
transported to the Gwinnett County Jail and
turned over to deputies.
•a man’s window busted out as he was pull
ing into the Pilot Travel Center on Highway 53.
When the driver stopped his car, an unknown
male approached him and said that the driver
had struck him. The male then said he was fine
and left the scene.
