INSPIRATIONAL CD
Timeless Gospel hymns like “Amazing Grace,” “He
Lives” and “I Need Thee Every Hour,” plus holiday
classics like “Away In A Manger” and “O’ Holy Night”
will be featured on Ricky Fitzpatrick’s new inspira
tional CD.
“BESIDE ME All Along”
an inspirational release from
singer/songwriter Ricky
Fitzpatrick, will be released
on Nov. 1.
Timeless Gospel hymns
like “Amazing Grace,” “He
Lives” and “I Need Thee
Every Hour,” plus holi
day classics like “Away In
A Manger” and “O’ Holy
Night” round out the lat
est offering from the award
winning artist, and his sec
ond release on F2 Records.
Fans will hear Fitzpatrick's
vocals and finger-picked
acoustic guitar on almost all
the tracks.
“These arrangements are
a little different” he says.
“I wanted to keep it simple
and honor the same basic
idea of all the songs, but
in some cases, stretch the
music just a little, to hope
fully present something
fresh and interesting. Fans
and friends have been after
me for years to release a CD
of Christian material. But
for one reason or another, I
just never would. But after
some patient nudging from
my wife, Cretia, ‘Beside Me
All Along’ is finally coming
to light.”
Fitzpatrick said this is a
new direction for him.
“I hope it will be some
thing that folks will embrace
and enjoy,” he added. “Many
people may not know or
remember that as a young
er man, I seriously consid
ered going into the ministry.
Either in Christian music or
even as a youth minister or a
pastor. But things change...
people change...you know
how that goes.”
Special pre-order CDs
will be autographed, have a
price of only $10 and should
arrive before the holiday
season begins. November
1, regular CDs and digital
downloads will be avail
able via iTunes, CD Baby,
Rhapsody, Napster, Amazon
and all other premium online
retailers.
General and ordering
information on “Beside Me
All Along” and on the music
of Fitzpatrick can be eas

American Legion Day set to be Sept. 16
LEGIONNAIRES will
soon have their own annu
al national holiday to cel
ebrate. Legion Day will be
an occasion to tell the orga
nization’s story by show
casing Legion programs and
working within communi
ties through the Legion’s
Four Pillars of Service.
In May of this year, the
Legion’s National Executive
Committee unanimously
passed a Resolution which
declares American Legion
Day to be September 16.
This is the date in 1919
when Congress issued a
federal charter to the orga
nization.
Rep. Deborah L.
Halvorson, D-IL, intro
duced H. Res. 679 on July
24 calling on the nation to
observe American Legion
Day on September 16. The
first American Legion Day
will also trigger a three
month “Legionstown USA”
campaign to recognize com
munities where posts play
an important role.
The American Legion’s
Four Pillars of Service is
fostering a strong national
security, taking care of vet
erans, mentoring the youth
of our nation and promot
ing patriotism and honor.
Every year members of the
American Legion donate
thousands of hours of com
munity service in veteran’s
medical facilities and home
care for our nation’s heroes.
They also sponsor many
youth organizations, donate
millions of dollars to col
lege scholarships and pro
vide a high level of service
to our nation’s youth.
Jefferson’s own American
Legion, Albert Gordon, Post
56, membership numbers
over 125. It was founded
in 1925 and named for the
first soldier from Jackson
County killed in World War
I. Post 56 meets meets
the third Tuesday of each
month and invites Veterans
of all military branches
from Jefferson and Jackson
County to join their broth
ers and sisters in member
ship. American Legion
Post 56 strongly supports
the Legion’s Four Pillars of
Service and is involved in
many Jefferson and Jackson
County programs, events
and activities.
