Calls reported to Arcade PD
Chicken house fire reported
Thieves target two houses in Hoschton subdivision
THIEVES TARGETED two houses in
a Hoschton subdivision in recent weeks,
according to police.
On Aug. 20, a woman on Buck Trail in
the Deer Creek Farms subdivision said
when she stopped at her house around
4:30 p.m., she found that a door from the
garage to the basement was open with a
light turned out.
When she entered her house, she
noticed that boxes were on the floor in a
bedroom, according to an incident report.
She grabbed a phone and quickly left the
house to call police.
Police believe the suspects entered the
woman’s house by pushing in an air con
ditioning unit in a basement window.
A number of items — mostly electron
ics and two firearms — were taken from
the residence, police said. However, a
diamond ring and necklace were left in
plain sight. The stolen items were valued
at more than $10,000.
A neighbor told Hoschton police
she saw an old model SUV, possibly a
Chevrolet Blazer, parked in the victim’s
driveway.
A week later, a visitor made an unan
nounced trip to his friend’s house on
Deer Creek Trail, where he found a white
pick-up truck in the driveway around
3:30 p.m. The man said there were three
black males standing outside of the truck,
and they quickly left the area when he
asked the men what they were doing.
The man called his friend, who arrived
seven minutes later. The homeowner said
a garage door was partially open, but
nothing was taken or out of place in the
residence.
A neighbor said they saw a Ford
Mustang prior to the incident in the area.
Another neighbor also said they saw a
white van in the subdivision at the time
of the incident.
One of the neighbors said it appeared
that the Ford Mustang was waiting for
the van. The white pick-up truck was last
seen driving on Ga. Hwy. 211, toward
Winder.
Hoschton police canvassed the area and
the neighbors told them what they wit
nessed. Neighborhood Watch procedures
were also implemented, police said.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the
Hoschton Police Department between
Aug. 3 and Aug. 29 included:
•damage to property at a Walnut Street
residence, where a woman said someone
threw toilet paper, eggs, brown sugar,
sand and a diaper over her property. She
believed that the suspect also tried to put
sand into the gas tank of her vehicle.
•theft by taking at a Ga. Hwy. 53
address, where a man said someone took
15 orange cones from the bed of two
work trucks. The cones were valued at
$324.
