GED graduation held at Lanier Tech
LANIER Technical
College held the 2009 Adult
Education GED Graduation
ceremony August 21, at Free
Chapel in Gainesville.
The guest speaker was
Representative Nathan
Deal. He was introduced by
Michael Moye, president of
Lanier Technical College.
Rep. Deal urged the gradu
ates to go on to a second
ary school to become skilled
workers who can compete
with workers from other
countries.
“Each of you is a piece
of the puzzle that makes up
society. Don’t run away from
expectations to do more,’’ he
said. “Machines need you to
make them work and only
you can set the example for
the children that follow. It
is your choice to accept or
reject the ideals that are open
to you. You must be willing
to help yourselves and be
very proud of your achieve
ments.”
