JMS STUDENTS PERFORM AT UGA BAND FESTIVAL
Nine Jefferson Middle School students were recently selected to attend the 2009
UGA Middle School Band Festival, Athens. The JMS students spent many hours in
rehearsals with top band directors from around the country in preparation for their

VISITS AREA HOSPITAL
Kings Bridge Middle School FCCLA Members visited Athens Regional
Hospital’s pediatric wings and delivered holiday gifts to patients. They made
goody bags which included elves, crayon, handmade pillows and cookies.
The children they visited were very happy to receive gifts made by other chil
dren. Joan Stevens is the FCCLA advisor.
FFA QUIZ BOWL WINNERS
East Jackson FFA members Taylor Schieszer (left) and Kristen McFearin (right)
were winners in the North Region FFA Quiz Bowl, held as a part of the recent North
Region FFA Rally. Schieszer was winner of the Beef Quiz Bowl, while McFearin was
the winner of the Floriculture Quiz Bowl. More than 500 students from Northeast
Georgia attended the FFA rally at the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center near Covington.

composers and conductors.
The group will rehearse and
perform in Stone Mountain
February 18-20.
In addition to making the
District Honor Band, twenty
JCCHS students scored high
enough at the district audi
tion to qualify for the final
state audition for the 2010
Georgia All-State Band.
Those students will audition
in Warner Robins January
9.

are band directors for
JCCHS.
The ambassadors assist
the offices of public rela
tions and admissions, rep
resenting and promoting
the college at a variety of
community and college
events. They work to main
tain positive relationships
between students, faculty,
alumni and the community.
To continue in the organi
zation, students must main
tain at least a 2.5 cumula
tive grade point average on
a 4.0 scale and commit at
least 35 hours per semester
to their service as ambas
sadors.
