SIXTH GRADE STUDENTS OF THE QUARTER
East Jackson Middle School recently selected its students of the quarter for the
second nine-week grading period. Each Connections faculty member chose one
student from each grade level that exhibited positive values of responsibility,
achievement, dedication and good work ethic. The sixth grade students included
(L-R, front row): Zac Waldrip, Cody Yang, Kristen Buice, Christina Walthers, Hannah
Kesler and Jessica Compton; and (back row) Anna Savage (assistant principal),
Ricky Garrett and Gailey Palmer.

EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS OF THE QUARTER

EJMS STUDENTS PERFORM IN HONOR BAND
Sixteen students from East Jackson Middle School were recently selected
to perform in the 19 th annual University of Georgia Middle School Band
Festival (Midfest). The students were joined by 900 of their peers across the
state to rehearse and perform in the honor bands with guest conductors in
the UGA Hugh Hodgson Performing Arts Center on Dec. 10-12. The EJMS
students include (L-R, front row): Juliana Watson, flute; Gracie Thompson,
flute; Noah Staples, percussion; Taylin Cozzens, trumpet; Andrew Taylor,
euphonium; Ryan Hill, trumpet; and Ryan Robinett, percussion; and (back
row) Cayla Highfield, bass clarinet; Adam Minnick, French horn; Lauren
Worley, trumpet; Carter Potts, tenor saxophone; Allisan Farlow, trombone;
Jacob Davis, percussion; Josh Valles, tuba; Joseph Pass, clarinet; and Ryan
White, tuba.
JES STUDENTS RECOGNIZED
Jefferson Elementary School’s character education word of the month for December
was respect. Each classroom selected a student to attend the Dragon Diner for
showing respect at school and they were treated to pizza and cookies on the stage
in the cafeteria. Parents were also invited to share in the festivities. First and second
grade students recognized were: (front row, L-R) Ashley Bradley, Hailey Beagle,
Alexandra Hernandez, Emma Grace Bost, Ashley Brehm, Nick Green, Alex Widner
and KaShayla Relefourd; (middle row, L-R) Joan Cazares, Kaleigh Money, Brett
Brush, Carter Stephenson, Hop Aldridge, Sam White and Callie Wade; and (back
row, L-R) Connor Avrett, Griffen Corbin, Sarah Helen Scott, Karlee Caldwell, Kylee
Novicki and Peyton Riggott.
