21 charged by Jackson County Sheriff’s Office
THE JACKSON County Sheriff's Office arrested 21 people
during the past week, including the following:
•Kerry Marcell Carter, 46, 815 Harrison Square, Gainesville,
violation of parole.
•Pamela Maria Woolfolk, 45, 5415 North 9th Avenue,
Pensacola, Fla., possession of less than one ounce of marijuana
and suspended license.
•John Wallace Bishop, 52, 188 Berry Drive, Athens, DUI less
safe and failure to maintain lane.
•Brittany Nicole Harkins, 20, 4565 Poplar Springs Road,
Gainesville, theft by deception.
•Jackson Lamont Powell, 35, 660 Thomas Road, Hull, open
container.
•Jhovani Velasco, 20, 540 Oglethorpe Avenue, Athens, driv
ing while unlicensed, no proof of insurance and suspended
registration.
•Debra Kay Allen, 44, 1175 Hale Crossing, Royston, viola
tion of probation and failure to appear.
•Larry Donald Grier, 55, 94 Glenfield Road, Jefferson, viola
tion of probation.
•Randall Ray Hollis, 43, 109 Brown Thrasher Road,
Pendergrass, violation of probation.
•Caleb Crawford Johnson, 22, 119 Eastview Drive,
Simpsonville, S.C., no insurance, driving while license sus
pended and use of license plate to conceal identity of vehicle.
•Steven Issac Landes, 25, 109 Georgia Avenue, Griffin, theft
by taking.
•James Andrew Reid, 35, 511 Wards Chapel Road, Eatonton,
child support arrest orders.
•Dale Glenn Allen, 43, 2040 Commerce Road, Lot 20,
Athens, violation of probation.
•David Stanley Allen, 18, 720 Tanglewood Trail, Atlanta,
underage consumption of alcohol, license to be carried and
displayed and public drunkenness.
•Timothy Jamiel Burnette, 31, 152 Zebulon Drive, Athens,
driving while unlicensed and speeding.
•Stephanie Dawn Eddy, 32, 471 Gainesville Highway,
Apartment 4, Winder, violation of probation.
•Alex Clay Fortson, 47, 8241 Highway 334, Nicholson, bat

INCIDENTS REPORTED to the
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office last
week include the following:
•financial card fraud against an Adams
Hill Road woman who said a hotel in
Brunswick charged her when she said
her bill had been paid in full.
•a Maysville woman said her ex-boy
friend is making threatening phone calls
to her.
•a Maysville man said he was the
victim of forgery over the sale of a
vehicle.
•a Jefferson man said he loaned a man
a gun to use during hunting season and
the man told him he lost it.
•stolen vehicle found in the parking lot
of a Braselton restaurant.
•an employee at a Hwy. 441 flea mar
ket said a man was selling food without
a license. He was asked to leave but did
not.
•a Nicholson man said his uncle
removed several things from his moth
er’s home after she died.
•property dispute between three peo
ple at a Hwy. 124, Jefferson, location.
•theft of scrap metal from a Fuller
Road, Athens, address.
•vandalism at a Sanford Road,
Nicholson, residence.
•dispute between two people at a
Braselton location over a vehicle.
•a woman slapped a man during a
dispute at a Swann Road, Jefferson,
residence.
•domestic dispute between a mar
ried couple at a Country Cove Road,
Braselton, home.
•harassing phone calls at a Pace Drive,
Nicholson, location.
•motor, tools, electronic games and
other items taken from the yard of a Curk
Roberts Road, Braselton, residence.
•possible fraud at a Banks Crossing
business.
•two deer stands taken from a Caboose
Court, Pendergrass, location.
•a Meadow View Drive, Jefferson,
man said someone “egged” his home.
•wallet taken from a B. Wilson Road
location.
•trespassing at a Forest Lake Road,
Pendergrass, residence.
•a Summit View Drive, Jefferson,
woman said someone “egged” her vehi
cle.
•harassment against at Hunt Club
Road, Nicholson, resident.
•a South Jackson woman said her ex
boyfriend has been calling and threaten
ing her.
•fraud against a Hwy. 334, Nicholson,
woman.
•aggravated stalking at a Forest Lake
Road, Pendergrass, location.
•dispute at a Jennings Lane, Athens,
residence.
•verbal dispute at an Old Winder-
Jefferson Road, Jefferson, location.
•shoplifting at a Banks Crossing
store.
•chairs, table and bush hog stolen
from a Woods Bridge Road, Commerce,
address.
CERT now taking applications
THE JACKSON County
Community Emergency
Response Team — CERT
— is taking applications for
its third training class to be
held in Jefferson.
The course teaches the
community basic first aid/
CPR, search and rescue, traf
fic control and more. The
course is designed for citi
zens to prepare for an emer
gency at home and in their
neighborhoods.
CERT needs 15 or more
participants before it can set
a class date.

City of Nicholson
NOTICE OF SPECIAL AGENDA
The City of Nicholson will hold its
monthly work session at 7:00 p.m. on
March 18, 2010 at the Community Center.
During the session the Mayor will call
the meeting to order to vote on the
proposed 2010 Budget.

TOWN HALL MEETING
District 3 Commissioner Bruce Yates will be
holding a Town Hall Meeting at the Pendergrass
Depot on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Yates is seeking discussion on the
Jackson County Comprehensive Plan, Agri-
Cycle, Recreation, SPLOST, county budget,
John B. Brooks Road, and other issues of
concern to citizens.
The public is encouraged to attend.

PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of Maysville will be picking up limbs
and brush inside the city limits on:
Tuesday, March 9 - Banks County Residents
Wednesday, March 10 - Jackson County Residents
No leaves or limbs over six feet long will be
picked up. All brush and limbs must be on the
right-of-way of the road.

State Troopers list incidents
STATE TROOPERS
from the Athens post of
the Georgia State Patrol
investigated 14 traffic
crashes during the month
of February in Jackson
County that resulted in
11 injuries.
Troopers also issued
20 traffic citations in the
county during the month.
The total includes six
citations for speeding,
six seatbelt violations
and one child restraint
violation.
Troopers also issued 34
warnings.

has been recovered.
Lt. Rory Clark, Maysville
Police Department, report
ed on Monday that several
items taken in a theft that
occurred at Infrasource, 219
Industrial Drive, Maysville,
have been recovered. The
theft occurred between 6:30
p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15,
and 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday,
Feb. 16.

Office deputy in Nicholson
and had in his possession a
camper cover that was taken
in the theft at Infrasource.
Clark said Jacky Chad
Allen, 32, 151 McGinnis
Chandler Road, Commerce,
was charged with theft by
receiving in the incident.
Clark reported 100 skid
blocks and 42 fence posts
taken in the theft were recov
ered at Allen’s residence.
Other charges are pending
in the case.
