County CTSO recognizes student achievement
STUDENTS RECOGNIZED AT LUNCHEON
The Jackson County Career Technical Student Organizations at Kings Bridge
Middle School recognized the achievements of CTSO students at its first annual
Career Technical Student Organization Luncheon. The event is designed to recog
nize student achievement and community service rendered as a member of their
respective Career and Technical Student Organizations.

CTSO.

vide a program of career
and leadership development,
motivation and recogni
tion for students enrolled
in the Family Career and
Community Leaders of
America, Future Business
Leaders of America and The
National FFA Organization.
CTSO’s present organized
activities for students to
achieve high academic suc
cess, gain personal and lead
ership skills making them
more employable, preparing
them to become productive
citizens, and assisting them
in assuming positive roles in
the home and community.
The CTSO advisors would
like to thank the partners in
education, Shannon Adams,
Debra Morris, parents and
community supporters for
attending the program.

JHS’s ‘Lucky Night Out’ fundraiser scheduled for March 20
THE JEFFERSON Dragon
Booster Club will be host
ing the 16th annual “Lucky
Night Out” fundraiser on
Saturday, March 20, at the
Jefferson Civic Center.
The event features six cash
prizes that total $10,000.
Musical entertainment will
be provided by the Swingin’
Medallions. Light hors
d’oeuvres will be available
from 6 - 7:30 p.m., along
with soft drinks, sweet and
unsweet tea, lemonade and
water.
The guest speaker at the
event will be former UGA
quarterback David Greene.
The former first team All
SEC quarterback will share
some stories from his play
ing days at Georgia, and
will also provide an auction
item.
Another highlight of the
evening will be a silent and
live auction. The silent auc
tion is always a big hit, with
several baskets of items
being donated by local busi
nesses and merchants. The
live auction contains over
25 items, including memo
rabilia from the University
of Georgia, Atlanta Falcons,

Notice is hereby given in compliance with Georgia Code 22-
2-109 that the Georgia Department of Transportation has
approved the Location and Design of this project.
Tire date of location approval is February 17, 2010.
Project CSAPD-0008-00(565) is located entirely within
Jackson County and Georgia Military District 245. This
project proposes to reconstruct the existing dirt road on
Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to a new two-lane paved rural
road from Galilee Church Road to Martin Luther King
Avenue to provide access to the Central Jackson Industrial
Park in tire City of Jefferson in Jackson County. This
includes improvements on Galilee Church Road by adding
an eastbound left turn lane at the intersection with Martin
Luther King Jr. Drive and a westbound right turn lane at tire
intersection with US 129 (a.k.a. Jefferson Bypass). The
estimated length of this project is 0.5 miles. The proposed
typical section consists of a rural section with two 12-foot
lanes and 6-foot shoulders.

the evening’s activity. A
maximum of 400 tickets are
being sold for entry into the
drawing for the cash prizes.
All proceeds from the event
go directly to support the
middle and high school ath
letic programs.

Jackson County Planning Commission
The Jackson County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing
at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at the Jackson County
Administrative Auditorium, 67 Athens Street, Jefferson, Georgia, to
consider the following matters:
Old Business
1. MA-10-01 - Jacquot Corporation requests a Future Land Use
Map Amendment from Commercial Activity Center to
Gateway Corridor located on approximately 7.53 acres on
Hwy. 441 South/720 Davis Rd. (Map 018/Parcel 007A and
Map 018/Parcel 009).
New Business
1. De-annexation - Deborah L. Lee, 443 B. Whitfield Rd.,
requests to de-annex a portion of a 3.36 acre tract currently

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners will address the
recommendations of the Planning Commission at a public hearing
on April 19, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Jackson County Courthouse at
5000 Jackson Parkway in the Jury Assembly Room.
Complete applications, plats, texts, maps, and public hearing
procedures are available for review in the Planning Division Office,
of the Department of Public Development during regular office
hours. All interested persons are invited to attend.
Anyone desiring to speak in opposition to one of the above cases
shall file a Campaign Contribution Disclosure form at least 2
business days prior to the April 19, 2010 Public Hearing.
