LAST WEEK was one of
highs and lows for the Eagles
of East Jackson. After pick
ing up their first region win of
the season last Tuesday, East
Jackson followed with two
losses to Fannin County in a
Saturday double header.
Up next is another road trip
for the Eagles, as they'll travel
north to Rabun County for a
doubleheader on Friday against
the Wildcats.
Rabun County enters play
this week 3-3 in the region and
5-3 overall, fresh off a set of
losses to Banks County in a
doubleheader on Friday.
First pitch is scheduled for
5 p.m.
WALNUT GROVE
Last Tuesday, the Eagles
played host to the Warriors of
Walnut Grove.
It ended up being a strong
showing for East Jackson, as
they came away with the 10-4
victory, getting 14 hits on the
night in the process.
Evan Williamson led the
Eagles at the plate, going 3-3.

Keyros and Williamson each
had a double against the war
riors.
FANNIN COUNTY
The Eagles hit the road on
Saturday to travel to Fannin
County to face the Rebels.
East Jackson was hoping to
ride a wave of momentum to
another victory.
But things didn’t work that
way, as the Eagles found them-

selves on the short end of an
8-2 score.
GAME TWO
Things didn't go any better
for East Jackson in the second
game of Saturday’s double-
header. Fannin County jumped
way out front early, and would
come away with a 17-1 victory
in only three innings.
JEFFERSON
On Tuesday, the Eagles
played host to Jefferson.
The Dragons got on the
board first, getting four runs
on the board in the top of the
first, then adding two more in
the top of the second.
East Jackson got their first
runs across in the bottom of the
third, scoring three, then would
add another in the bottom of
the fifth to cut the lead to 6-4.
But Jefferson scored two
more runs in the top of the
sixth and another two in the
top of the seventh, while hold
ing East Jackson scoreless, to
come away with the 10-4 vic
tory.
John Robinson led at the
plate, going 1-3 with three
RBIs. Trae Knight went 1-3
on the night.

against Jackson County, com
ing away with a 1-0 victory.
The next night, East Jackson
traveled to Jefferson to face
the Dragons. The boys picked
up a 2-1 win after overtime
and penalty shoot-outs gave
them the edge they needed.
The girls, meanwhile, also
recorded a win over the Lady
Dragons, winning 1-0.
Both wins means the East
Jackson boys have defeated
the other high school teams
in the county, while the girls
still have yet to play JCCHS
this season.
Thursday also marked the
first ‘clean sweep' of the sea
son for the Eagles, as the boys
and girls JV teams also won
over Jefferson.
On Friday, the boys traveled
to Riverside. Despite riding
a wave of momentum after
the wins on Wednesday and
Thursday, East Jackson came
away with a loss, 2-0.
On Saturday, East Jackson
traveled to Athens Academy,
hoping to rebound from
Friday’s loss.
It didn't happen for the
boys, as the Eagles fell 6-0.
For the girls, it was a similar
story, as the Lady Eagles lost
to Athens Academy 5-0.
Both teams were slated to
travel to Oglethorpe County
on Tuesday. Results were
unavailable at press time.
Up next. East Jackson will
travel to North Oconee on
Thursday. The girls’ match is
scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.,
with the boys to follow at 7
